Name the goalkeepers

Just thought I'd give people something to think about other than the boardroom.

These are my favourite goalkeepers - who are yours and why?

In my time I would say Sulli has been the best.  Yes Warrington was great for us, and Turnbull may be, but for the success the ex-international ex-premier league 'keeper helped bring, it has to be Sulli...

Gary Woods was on the painting originally, but just like in real life when in goal for us, he did a disappearing act.

Bentley Bullet, i was just about to mention David Cromack. Didnt he let six in on his debut against Mansfield Town????

And Kim Book, George Best scored seven against him in an FA Cup tie when kim played for Northampton. Then we went and signed him!

A bit like that bloke David Beckham scored against from inside his own teams half!!! We just had to have him eventually!!

Wrong Bentley  :boxing:

Saw him let in 6 in a 4-6 home defeat probably in 1966-7. May have been Mansfield

edit: sorry Longbridge - you beat me to it

A few of my fave's from the last 30 years. Andy Rhodes was the first keeper who I thought wow your pretty good, Andy Beasley was another, often underrated but I recall one game at Shrewsbury which was probably the finest goalkeeping display I have witnessed, seemed to be pulling off quality saves every other minute. Dean Williams also impressed, quite small for a keeper, but a cheeky chappy who loved a spat with the opposition and fans (Hartlepool pie incident !), more recently Sullivan became a bit of a legend, I will probably remember him most for his time wasting antics against Leeds & Brentford, but generally solid and reliable. Turnbull I think could be one of the best, he actually looks like a keeper, just need to see him commanding his box more.  There have been a few shiters over the years too !
