Especially if they were surly. ;)

I saw some of the trouble by the Premier Inn. I wasn't hanging around to see the results come in, but clearly someone had a face that'd seen a few punches. I too was surprised to see not a trace of the Police.

Looked pathetic to me, why after Wednesday fans were being shown the door some of our fools wanted to safely abuse them from the walkway I don't know. Oh sorry it was because it was safely. Made themselves look idiots.

How many of our "donny massive" were wearing red and white? From what I saw there were none (feel free to correct me) just a load of fake fred perry/stone island/burberry wannabees

There was a particularly vociferous knobhead sanctuary next to me at the back of the South. Won't shed any tears if I don't see them again...

I love how everyone is blaming the lads and kids who gave it back to the wendie fans acting like kitsons in the home end. Drfc are the ones at fault willy nilly flogging tickets to Wednesday fans knowingly. But I suppose it's the Rovers way to moan about our own fans. Next time we play Leeds and Wednesday lets leave their fans to do what they want in our end. Another thing I don't have sympathy for anyone who brings having a kid with thrm into it. As like every other game the family stand is never full. If you dont want your child to witness things like this or hear foul language there is designated stand for this.

I agree with you in respect of foul language, but not violence and/or people generally acting like t**ts. Funnily enough it was those who were moved out of the west stand due to singing section closing who were hell bent on causing trouble in the South.

So where were these lads before the Barnsley game (start of the singing section) Jenny?

The vast majority of them came from the South to the West.

Close the stadium down just in case the police start handing out invoices.

I was disappointed that I had to move my 7 year old niece in the first half because of a group of morons who were trying to pretend they were 'hard'. I generally don't care what people get up to inside and outside of the ground but when their are kids around, it's not big nor clever.
I wouldn't take my young kids to a yorkshire derby, and if I did it would be in the designated family stand

Giving it large walking past car parks and knocking young kids over
One knobhead in a parka in particular lucky not to get arrested

I wonder if this was the same thing I witnessed walking back after game?

One Wendy hit out at one of our fans after squaring up to him and I think they both ended upon the hedges.

Two police ladies on horseback were behind them. Think they intervened but neither got off their horse.

Sounds all imitation '70's' stuff, good job some of these weren't around then. They wouldn't have lasted 2 minutes in those days.
There is no history of trouble between our clubs  (apart from the fact that nowadays we beat them) so why are the Wendies trying to create one ? Perhaps they miss the Blades.

I remember a cup game against them at Belle Vue in the 70's. I was in the Town End with it all kicking off. Same with their near neighbours. (might have been the same year or the year after).

This rubbish needs to stay in the 70's. It is hard enough getting the next generation of fans through the turnstiles as it is without them being scared by morons who have got giddy watching Green Street.

I was just making the point that the problem isn't  with the singing section, it's with a bunch of idiots who were using it as an excuse try and cause trouble.

My mum sits by the singing section & said it was much improved yesterday in terms of actually getting behind our team and not just goading the opposition fans and having sat down by there for most of the game I agree... Just an inflated version of the WSBBA and I hope the club move towards a solution which also encompasses eradicating those who simply want to try and cause trouble.

I remember somebody making a point after the Chester play off game which after ten years I still can't make my mind up if I agree with.  Some of our fans and their vehicles got a bit of a kicking during the league game there.  The presence of "the DDR" during the play off game meant that the normal Rovers fans didn't have the same problems.

As someone who has on occassion sat in home ends I've never cheered when Rovers have scored or made it obvious who I was and 90% of us are normal enough to accept away fans in the home end if they keep their heads down.  Maybe Leeds and SheffW have seen us as a particularly soft touch and might not take the piss from now on if they know they're not just going to get left to it or at worst escorted into an already full away end (safety certificate anyone???)

I got my car bricked at Chester away that day in the league game. Coppers watched it all and refused to do anything about it.

The presence of the DDR.......plus a lot more police and stewards....... meant there wasn't the same trouble at the play-off game.

That's understandable MM but these local big teams do need to understand that every town has it's 'hardmen'. Donny is no different from Sheffield or Leeds or Chester for that matter.
We have to protect our own, we always have and that doesn't mean we are a soft touch because we don't march around in huge gangs.
Still there are many amongst our supporters who would seek to demasculate our own folk and call them a bunch of kids. There were many there yesterday in red and white and at every game that I wouldn't dream of taking on and I know I can handle myself if entirely necessary.

Family club we may be but please don't knock our manfolk.

I was sat in the west stand with my 2 mates, one of whom is a big Wednesday fan, sat there having a laugh not causing a scene and behaving himself, most importantly not making it known he was an owls fan, if they could all show that kind of respect for being in the home end for me there wouldn't be a problem!
After the game I thanked him for the 3 points, his £25 and the £10 he spent in the concourse! Not heared much from him since mind!

Hoopla hoop I wish to correct you that there is no history of trouble between us and Wednesday . Apart from 70s league cup ties where they took over and bullied, have you forgot the 2004 pre season friendly . This led to the league game at belle vue being a 12 noon Sunday game if I remember correctly .

Our atmosphere was pathetic yesterday, Wednesday's made some good noise tbf to them. I don't know what's happened to the signing section but while it was there against Barnsley our atmosphere was good.

After all this crap about not being able to sit in that area of the West Stand, I was able to go and sit there despite my tickets being somewhere else. No stewards or anything around.

Rovers fans couldn't buy tickets , but Wednesdays could. Three at the front were just moved into the middle of the stand .

I just don't get any of this. What a load of stupid idiots all of the involved are/were.

It's a football game, not a war - ask that geezer who comes onto the pitch from time to time who was blown up in the middle east! Football must be the only sport where moronic fans can't even sit near each other to watch their teams. To be honest with you, since the Forest game I've been once, simply because of the idiotic, rage-filled, behaviour of football fans (mostly Rovers). Why behave like that?

Thing is, 99.9% of these Saturday afternoon hard men would run a mile if they ever tried to attack me, or most other people with a decent set of muscles and the ability to use them. They focus on kiddies, the elderly, and mostly they just need throwing out of the ground. And it would be me who ended up in court for knocking them unconcious if they started pushing me and shouting silly football songs at me in the car park just because I support another sporting team wouldn't it?!

Jesus wept...... If you want to know why football is kind of losing it's appeal for a lot of people, it's the mixture of the monetary situation of many, the pathetic cheating on the pitch (ever seen rugby? Those blokes don't roll about if their arm has been touched and they don't do that silly head to head crap either and pretend they've been shot), and the behaviour of a fair few "Fans".

It's a game, it's a busniess, and it's losing it's appeal.

Read this post....it's this kind of thinking that makes me want to spend my money somewhere else and sets football back 100 years. Pathetic pseudo-manlove all about "them" "us" DDR (don't make me laugh) and bullshittery. There is no place for these idiots in football - they aren't hard, they aren't even tough enough to go and fight in a boxing ring. And other "fans" idolising them and praising this kind of bahaviour just goes to prove that football "violence" (mostly just shouting about and talking about it) is a tiny mask for the inadequate fan who probably is scared of their own shadow. Sad.....

You don't need to remind me of that but they seem to want that yesterday. You are missing the point, I know that they aren't trad. enemies a la Rotherscum, Scunthorpe etc. and the 70's was purely about numbers not that Sheffield lads are tougher than Donny lads on a one to one basis.

Perhaps it's lack of contact between the clubs when I was a lad but back in the 80's I can't remember the Wendies having so many vile fans as they do now, they always seemed one of the "nicer" sets of supporters. Sign of the times?

I don't have sympathy for anyone who brings having a kid with thrm into it. As like every other game the family stand is never full. If you dont want your child to witness things like this or hear foul language there is designated stand for this.

Regarding colourful language that's part and parcel of a football atmosphere.

Seeing a bunch of 7 stone pubescent wannabe hard men posturing from the safety provided by a line of stewards (which could easily have been broken if any of the tough guys actually had any intention of doing anything more than finger pointing) is quite frankly pathetic and unwelcome.

I stand in the South Stand and try to contribute to the atmosphere as much as possible. I've also got a son who turns 4 this Summer and I'll start taking him to matches soon. Are you suggesting that the onus is on me to give up my season ticket seat that I've had for years and ask my friends to relocate to the family stand so we don't have to come into contact with a bunch of jumped up bell ends who think they're extras in "Green Street"?!
