I just don't get any of this. What a load of stupid idiots all of the involved are/were.It's a football game, not a war - ask that geezer who comes onto the pitch from time to time who was blown up in the middle east! Football must be the only sport where moronic fans can't even sit near each other to watch their teams. To be honest with you, since the Forest game I've been once, simply because of the idiotic, rage-filled, behaviour of football fans (mostly Rovers). Why behave like that?Thing is, 99.9% of these Saturday afternoon hard men would run a mile if they ever tried to attack me, or most other people with a decent set of muscles and the ability to use them. They focus on kiddies, the elderly, and mostly they just need throwing out of the ground. And it would be me who ended up in court for knocking them unconcious if they started pushing me and shouting silly football songs at me in the car park just because I support another sporting team wouldn't it?!Jesus wept...... If you want to know why football is kind of losing it's appeal for a lot of people, it's the mixture of the monetary situation of many, the pathetic cheating on the pitch (ever seen rugby? Those blokes don't roll about if their arm has been touched and they don't do that silly head to head crap either and pretend they've been shot), and the behaviour of a fair few "Fans". It's a game, it's a busniess, and it's losing it's appeal.
Quote from: Rios on March 23, 2014, 12:34:06 pmI remember somebody making a point after the Chester play off game which after ten years I still can't make my mind up if I agree with. Some of our fans and their vehicles got a bit of a kicking during the league game there. The presence of "the DDR" during the play off game meant that the normal Rovers fans didn't have the same problems. As someone who has on occassion sat in home ends I've never cheered when Rovers have scored or made it obvious who I was and 90% of us are normal enough to accept away fans in the home end if they keep their heads down. Maybe Leeds and SheffW have seen us as a particularly soft touch and might not take the piss from now on if they know they're not just going to get left to it or at worst escorted into an already full away end (safety certificate anyone???)Read this post....it's this kind of thinking that makes me want to spend my money somewhere else and sets football back 100 years. Pathetic pseudo-manlove all about "them" "us" DDR (don't make me laugh) and bullshittery. There is no place for these idiots in football - they aren't hard, they aren't even tough enough to go and fight in a boxing ring. And other "fans" idolising them and praising this kind of bahaviour just goes to prove that football "violence" (mostly just shouting about and talking about it) is a tiny mask for the inadequate fan who probably is scared of their own shadow. Sad.....

If you dont want your child to witness things like this or hear foul language there is designated stand for this.Regarding colourful language that's part and parcel of a football atmosphere.Seeing a bunch of 7 stone pubescent wannabe hard men posturing from the safety provided by a line of stewards (which could easily have been broken if any of the tough guys actually had any intention of doing anything more than finger pointing) is quite frankly pathetic and unwelcome.I stand in the South Stand and try to contribute to the atmosphere as much as possible. I've also got a son who turns 4 this Summer and I'll start taking him to matches soon. Are you suggesting that the onus is on me to give up my season ticket seat that I've had for years and ask my friends to relocate to the family stand so we don't have to come into contact with a bunch of jumped up bell ends who think they're extras in "Green Street"?!

Are we suggesting it was Rovers supporters that ramped up the ill-feeling in these last two home games. I was there on Satdi and saw little to reflect this. Many Wendies came with one view in mind to get pissedand leary in town, beat the tinpot club and outmuscle a local rival on their home turf. They didn't win the game, frightened both their own and our women and children with their hostility. In some way it reminded me somewhat of the Play-Off final where our folk were treated to similar shite with the Leeds fans but on a smaller scale. I know my missus and young'un couldn't get in Wembley quick enough to get the spit off their hair and clothes. It leaves a very sour taste in your mouth when you see your 9 year old in floods of tears. We have to nip this in the bud quickly if the threats are indeed coming from our own fans at home. I'm not sure that's the case and think some have their own agenda in order to create an anti-singing section feeling amongst forum users!
Baz, I'm quite concerned about that. One of the things we've always talked about is identifying newcomers/families etc and guiding them in the right direction. They obviously don't know the format or protocol. Any chance you could let me have more info?

Thing is, a lot of people have given their opinions on the rubbish aggressive behaviour and language of both our fans and other teams fans. Why doubt them and link it to some weird anti-singing section thing? Nobody really gives a monkeys about the singing section happening or not happening. It's not that important in the scheme of things. What football is failing to grasp is that it has to move with the times in terms of its fanbase. Peddling to yobs who can't stop shouting swearwords in public and who give off an atmosphere of hate is not doing anything but driving revenue away from football clubs like Doncaster. Using words like "outmuscle" to describe people attending a football game is the kind of hyperbole that perpetrates this macho pseudo-tough guy image that should have been nailed to a plank and buried down a mineshaft a long, long time ago. And nobody yet has given me the reason why football fans are the only sporting fans in the UK to be segregated. Why is this? I guess we all gQuote from: CraigyBoy on March 25, 2014, 02:07:41 pmQuote from: hoolahoop on March 25, 2014, 01:49:39 pmAre we suggesting it was Rovers supporters that ramped up the ill-feeling in these last two home games.
