Goal music
« on April 01, 2014, 03:25:44 pm by colincramb »
I know this has been discussed before, but can we please finally get rid of that hideous music after we score. Don't know about others but it really grates on me and makes us look tin pot! Not to mention it's used by about 20 other clubs, mostly in league 1 and 2. It was ok about 10 years ago, but surely the time has come to ditch it.

It's embarrassing!

We did get it taken away about a year ago. JR had it brought back.

Perhaps getting rid of it again will exorcise JRs ghost!

Just wondering if we can have another vote on this then, given there was obviously enough in favour to remove it the first time?

I can arrange for it not to be played dead easy if that's general consensus! No worries!

Obviously not all supporters use this forum so how about we trial it being stopped and see if there are any complaints?

I'm easy and so are the techies in the pa box - it could be kept, replaced or just binned depending on consensus! I'll ask for us not to play it this weekend and see what reaction we get! With regards to replacing it with something else - that'd need taking to the club - leaving the crowd to celebrate in their own way would be easier initially! I do know there was a poll conducted last time it arose as something to look at and the fanbase were happier (in general) with nothing being played - however that view my well have changed along with our fanbase!

Personally I celebrate each Rovers goal by giving all my neighbouring supporters a firm handshake (or a peck on the cheek for the ladies).

The kids seem to like the music. You don't have to clap along, you too can do your own thing.

Might be worth mixing it up a bit with some new tunes.

You cant beat hearing the roar of the crowd.

Id be tempted to add to the crowd noise by cheating a tad at lower attended games by adding crowd noise from p.a  :woohoo:

I'd keep it for this reason. TBH honest I didn't notice when we stopped it last time.

One way or t'other it's not really offensive is it but maybe it is time for change.

Personally I would get rid of the music full stop. I don't understand the attraction with it to be honest. But, if the majority vote we are going to keep the goal music, can we please change it to something a bit more unique/different?

How about some crowd cheer noises from Subbuteo. Wasn't there something available?
