Too much on wages and we have enough options in center midfield if we keep Keegan.

Jamie Ashdown would be a decent option if we fail to keep Turnbull

A reason we got relegated is due to us having little or back up or central midfielders up to the English game. We don't have enough central midfielders at all. Come home paul.

Would he really sign for us? Seemed to do pretty well in a decent Ipswich side towards the end of last season.

Agree but i'm guessing De val will get more game time this year. That's him, Wellens, Keegan & Furman. Wellens would walk into any league 1 team and the other two would make most. I really don't think we need any more central midfielders.

We have 4, 3 of which are pretty similar styles and prefer the sidewards ball. Wellens gets injured were screwed, look at them last 7 games without him. We need 1 or 2 more midfielders who are forward thinkers.

I would say Green is similar to Furman only better, a box to box player. I can't remember Greeny making defense splitting passes

Greeny played on the right side  in a three
SOD initially brought him back into the side at Crewe as a right wing back
Definitely would provide forward momentum and defensive cover

If we have the money he would improve the side no end

Something's are better left as they are, we recently got let down by a recent homecoming.

This

We shouldn't assume that the Greeny of now is the same one we let go

Not only can I remember him making defence splitting passes, I can remember him surging forward and putting away some important goals, something we've been lacking from midfield lately.

A syers kind of player but only better. Good move all round IMO.

f**k bringing stock back he was good with us last time but towards end of his spell he was always in physio room. We don't want to base the team too much on the past we need to move forward and look to bringing in some younger players to mix with the experience.

Ipswich bound......

Perfect Mick Mac player. Big engine, huge heart, never stops running, no noticeable skill and as Irish as they come.

Do we really think Wellens is not one of those without a release clause? I for one will be surprised/delighted if he is still with us come August.

Wellens will not get a better deal than with us at his age and Paul Green with him in midfield would be ideal .

Remember finishing not being greens strongest asset
Would be good for us as we seem to lack energy in midfield
Realistically can't see it happening though

Our tempo would be improved greatly by his signing and I can't help but wonder if PD is tempted to go back to his 4231 that started the season but failed due to the lack of goal threat from the 3 - Green would address that deficiency (but then so would Syers). If PD wants to stick with a 442 then I think we're more missing a Stock-type player than Greeny.
