Very worrying news 3 games after getting the all clear from the docs. Hopefully a precaution but doesn't look great.

Rob Jones asked to go off does not look good after challenge from  Garner in the first minute holding his neck from then.

devasted for Rob Jones the footballer but for the good of Rob Jones the bloke it's time to call it a day fella. What a leader he got us promoted almost single handed by his sheer will to win

Garner did him in the first minute, rob being rob tried to continue but he knew something was wrong. Garners a right cheating get, at it all night

Surely since we got relegated he will be on the pay cut now, or are we still paying him championship wages if so our CEO is naive when it comes to contracts.

It was an innocuous challenge by Garner, something you'd expect a CB to take a dozen times a game, it does look like a career finisher :(

That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard anyone say on this forum.

I fear the same as Gaz and whilst I hope it's nothing serious it's hard not to fear the worst. Talk of loan budgets aside, I genuinely feel we need to buy a proper centre half now and not rely on a loan. We've shown tonight we've got energy and skill going forward but if frailty at the back leads us to dropping points then that's just going to lead to frustration all round.

I sit behind the home bench, a few rows up.  Several people around me thought Rob Jones was in tears as he came down the tunnel with the obvious assumption that he knows its the end of his career.

He was feeling problems down his left arm which could mean a trapped nerve at his fifth vertebrae I only know as I have the same injury from playing rugby and it is a career finisher.

I tend to agree it could very well be a career finishing injury, he was holding his neck but tried to carry on, I really feel for the lad, lets hope he can carry on in his new coaching roles.  and I certainly know how debilitating  back/neck injuries can be due to my own problems

McCombe nearly fit again but we need Quinn (or ANOther) as well.
Worried about RJ, we could be missing a natural leader.

It's a crying shame but I think that's it for Jones's career. Too big a gamble for the lad.

Time to step into the Pantheon of Rovers Greats of the Past.

We'll see how he is over the coming days, then we'll know how he is, fact.

As you get older, healing happens slower, maybe too slow for him, maybe he wasn't quite ready, and he isn't one to shy away from putting his body through the mill. The injury he has just got could be anything. Difficult as it may be, it's a simple case of wait and see folks

Roaring his eyes out as he went down the tunnel. Such a committed player and no doubt someone all the team look up to for inspiration and leadership. I wouldn't want Jones to continue if it's gonna affect his long term health. His full blooded approach to playing and his position means he's more susceptible than most to injury. Look after yourself Rob lad.

Bumped into Rob coming out of the ground last night and asked him how he was. He sounded as sick as a parrot and just said something along the lines of 'I don't know'.
Several other people spoke to him as well and he really did sound as though he knew it was serious
