Doncaster v Walsall
Crawley v Doncaster
Doncaster v Yeovil
Doncaster v Crewe
Port Vale v Doncaster
Doncaster v Bristol City
Doncaster v Colchester

No easy games I know but looking at these fixtures gotta be confident of getting a fair few points in February  :scarf:

15 points out of the 21 would put us in the pack of six at the top.

Nothing is guaranteed but we should be capable of quite a few wins there..

On recent form you'd say something like 2 wins, 4 draws and 1 defeat. But to be looking at the play offs I'd say we need to be winning 4 or 5, especially given the league positions of our opponents.

I know that injuries, luck, bad refereeing, inspired goalkeeping etc can all conspire against us, but if we can't get 4 wins and one draw (at least) from those fixtures then we won't deserve to get into the play offs.  We need to carry on grinding out results but turning draws into wins.

Our recent league form ia WWDDWDD ie 13 points from 7 - not a bad run but a couple more Ws would see us right up there.

Mmmm wonder why the Bristol game has been put in for February. For non ST holders we are looking at around £120 per adult just for the home games, so I can see many selective fans giving our home gates a dip purely on cost...money still an issue in these parts...fact

Blame the Football League. They insist that games are rearranged within a certain time. March or April would have been a better time for the Bristol City game.

Thanks TRB did wonder why. Even more baffling given we are out of all cups and they only have JPT I believe, hardly a priority for a rushed fixture...

effectively rovers could take 22 points  from the 7 games ---  by boosting the goal difference
Itchy Flea looked unstoppable on the football league show

That didn't make me feel like making the trip over another  four times this month. Not to mention petrol and money for food and drink.
Surely we can't be as inept again.

Was thinking today while trying to follow the game from my hospital bed- if I had to miss most of a season, this was probably a good one to do it.
 :(

EDIT: It reminds me of that season under Wignall in the Conference when we were out of all the Cups (apart from the County Cup, which we won) by January and were well off the pace in the League. I recall just waiting for the season to end. Mind you, at times Dickov reminds me a lot of Wignall. The latter could never get production out of his strikers.

To be fair besty, I think this rhetoric that we do better against 'the best' is a bit of false dawn. Out of the current top 10, the only teams we've beaten are chesterfield at home, Bradford away and Swindon away. We've been hammered comprehensively twice by port vale, lost to sheff utd at home, lost twice to Bristol City (heavily) and drew with mk dons and Preston, both at home. That's not even factoring in the 2 heavy defeats to wallsall

Now don't get me wrong here, I still think we might pick up points. But this notion that we tend to raise our game against the best doesn't really hold much water

The game at MKD might have to be rearranged due to international call-ups. Theirs more than ours.

Big month if still in with a shout after March its game on because sure it's end of March/April Bradfords run in is tough and think they are our main rivals.

I think it's time to get real now folks, we've beaten the bottom 3 clubs in the Div and lost to 2 of the clubs who are/were around us in the fight for 6th. There looks to be just one play off place up for grabs and we've got teams in the top half to play this month. We have been mediocre in the most of those wins in February we really need a big step up in March if we are to keep that play-off place and I for one don't see it happening.
March I see as the month that proves we are a mid table team, I hope I'm wrong.

As I said, one game at a time.

Who expected us to beat Swindon when we had just lost badly at home to Gillingham?  Look how far we have come since?

2 tough away games coming up against probably the best two sides in the division at the minute. Two or more points will be a good return

I think we can pick up 4 points from the next two games. Preston 1, Gills 3.

well    for PNE FEBRUARY has been a "PERFECT PRESTON"   5 WINS and no goals conceeded and we all know what is going to happen in the first March game
Rovers will score in the first minute !!! well maybe a bit later ? (it happens so many times when a manager wins the manager of the month)
