Give Jones a go

For the last 7 games anyway. We have nothing to lose. I'm convinced that he was in charge in our last promotion anyway.

I'm not sure about Jones. I'd much rather see an experienced manager come in

Most decent experienced managers are in high up jobs, unless you just want someone who's be around years and failed club after club? I'd much rather have someone like Rowett or Edinburgh, and Jones could be that person if given the chance, we'll never know unless he's tried.

Dickov should stay in his job until its (at least) impossible to reach the play-offs.

So that's now then, how many games do you see us winning between now and the end of the season?

If we can get Rosler or Holloway get them. If not keep PD.

John Barnes has been moaning that he can't get a job.

Get rid of Dickov but don't think Jones would be the answer can imagine him been a good motivator but I could imagine his style of football very similar to Saunders. But certainly someone I would want amongst the coaching staff.

Would ROK be a popular choice amongst the fans?

It's possible. I didn't say it was probable.

Any watched much of the Under 21's? Anyone know how Jones' team plays?

Nothing to back this up really, but I reckon the Board will give him until next Christmas to show some improvement and have us challenging.

Think we have the current management structure for some time yet, but I can't imagine Dick and Terry wanting to keep employin someone spending their money to go slowly backwards.

I agree with CBCB I just can't see the board sacking him just yet.

If the board were to give Jones ago then I think he needs the rest of the season as a trial period.

Weaver. Cheap and entirely compliant Yes Man.

Managed to get nine league goals out of Prince Moncrieff in a team with the worst ever record in modern English professional football.

Our top league scorers this season are Main and Tyson both currently on less than the Prince.

Dickov should be given until end of season, if not in playoffs, then he should go.

He did well to build the team cohesion again and create a team but the football itself was disgusting to watch.

No he shouldn't. He's had long enough, we're going backwards. I'd like the board to be decisive for once and appoint his replacement now so he can assess the current squad (Rosler? Adkins?). However I think the best we can hope for is for Dickov to go and a stop gap of Rob Jones/Wellens til end of the season.

I don't know why people are so dismissive of Jones. My own feeling is that a lot of the team spirit that carried us through two years ago was down to him. Since then Dickov has not really used him much with the first team.

With someone experienced to work alongside him he could be a decent manager or, if you prefer, Head Coach.

The main concern is with because of his playing style would that be how he sets his teams up because although there would be a lot of heart it wouldn't be pretty to watch. Would be happy for him to have a trial go for the last part of season to put some fight in there and to see if he is capable. But think it would be too much of a gamble to throw him a contract straight away if he was to ever get the opportunity. My gut feeling is he is someone that will end up been more suited to been part of a coaching staff.

No leave Jones with the youth team for a future manager if good enough, we need the right man in not the cheapest, he's not ready yet.

I love the way people can guess Rob Jones' management style from the way he used to play. Dickov's team certainly dont play the way he used to play!

I think we all would. However, whilst the powers that be sit there scratching their arses & high-fiving each other, I'd say the most likely outcome of getting rid of PD would be to promote within, only until the end of the season. Then they may look at who's interested/available, by which time the better ones ie, Rosler will have long gone.

Agreed. Roundhead players sometimes make Cavalier managers, and vice-versa.
