I think the one they called Ball is actually Anthony Bell, who scored in last week's game. I wonder if he's done enough to earn a contract? Not likely to be a first teamer just yet though.

20 yrs old as far as I know. I understand he hails from Darlington. Scouted from there by ole Gunnar socks are, the then Cardiff boss. He looks a very fit lad and quite some athlete. Looked a bit isolated at times tonight and you could tell he was new to the group. He looks a bit of a find, still a bit raw, but could be a great player, if developed right. Got a fair turn of pace and has some strength. Well worth a 2 yr deal imho.

Jo Pugh looks a right handful and was far too good for Armthorpe to handle - another one who looks a right prospect.

We just need 2 or 3 more 1st teamers to give these good youngsters time to come through.

Bell was ex boro academy and scored a bagful for Guisborough in the Northern League. A friend of mine is the North East scout for Cardiff and he was absolutely raving about the lad, saying that he was a proper player, which he doesn't readily do.
He can make some bold claims at times though. Last season he was sent to do a report on Dele Ali at MK and came back reckoning he's a better player than Ross Barkley already. It was shortly after that Ali went to Spurs so be interesting to see how it works out for him at Spurs this season.
