The 'closer to home thing' was just a smokescreen to cover up the bust up behind the scenes. Wellens has personally gone down in my estimation but its surprising how quickly people forget these type of things and welcome him back. No one will care by the next home game I imagine.

I'm afraid you've got this one wrong CIM.
There is a particular reason why he would like to be closer to home.
And there has been no bust up behind the scenes.

Fair enough, I'm just guessing. Strange how it all occurred so abruptly!
Maybe its a family reason he wants to be nearer home.A bit like Kevin Mckintyre who got slagged off on here a lot.

It's a fair point..We are quick to draw our own conclusions,it could be family illness or a whole multitude of things...I don't rate him as highly as some,I think he costs us as a team far more than he gives...but right now he's still a rover and you have to respect that I guess....

Surely everyone knows that players these days don't play for clubs, they play AT clubs. They  aren't supporters of the club they're playing at, they are simply contracted to play there.

ANY footballer would leave the club they were playing at, if a better offer came along. Likewise so would any manager.

I can't think of any player who has/would be an exception to this.

Richie Wellens is no different to anyone else.
the  exception being  copps

That's an interesting opinion.

It doesn't line up with RW being dropped or the words coming from Dickov.

He could make it clear that RW'so wishes were understandable, without saying why, but hasn't.

Somewhere close to Guisborough, moved there a couple of years ago, to say he didn't want to move from Doncaster is a myth, his house in Fosterhouses was up for sale for about 3 years prior to his move back North

He's also turned down better offers,

Nobody turns down a better offer. If an offer is turned down, it is for reasons that outweigh the merits of taking up the offer, so it is obviously not considered a better offer.

... as in you are offered twice the Pay(in any job not just a Footballer)  but have to commute three times further costing you most of the pay rise and a much worse work / life balance

So wellens failure to secure a move away has resulted in us not being able to bring more players in AND we have now got to try and accept wellens back with "open arms".
Sounds like a bad day all round to me.

If the reason why Wellens wants to move is for family reasons then there is still a possibility of a loan move.

If the reason is that a club wanted him to fill a specific role which they have now covered via another deal, then he will be staying. In that case he needs to knuckle down and earn his money here.

Where has anyone said we were relying on Wellens leaving. We brought a player in on Friday, before all this with Wellens started and we brought one in yesterday without him leaving. Why don't you go trolling on your new clubs forum, your not a supporter of Rovers anymore.

But we got Gobern, as a CM, who was apparently the player lined up should Wellens have left?

Plus PD said a few weeks ago that the board would back him for loanees (window opens next week?) and that was before the Wellens saga.

So now we have Stewart, Gobern, Keegan almost back and Wellens (like it or not), with N'Guessan to come hopefully soon, and Jones?

Looks a lot better than 7-10 days ago, doesn't it?

But until this week we did have not have players to replace him, now with Gobern and A recovering Keegan he does not have to play every game we have a mixture of centre midfield players. But we still don't have another creative central midfield. But if every bodies happy with closing down and long ball then he doesn't have to play.

What is a bad day is that the club cannot afford two more players until Wellens leaves Sustainability that's what it's all about promotion is not on the agenda and that's why supporters are fed up and staying away. Paying high ticket prices just to consolidate in the league.

That's just supposition.
