What about the chances we've missed dearne

What about them? Not one on target. Second half has been a lot better to be fair.

We're still comfortably in 4th place in the League 1 fair play stakes  :cold:

Millwall now equal bottom.

Obviously not on target but if they should be 5 up cause of their chances how many should we have scored?

Need to get Keegs on at half time

Please not the "Keegan will be our saviour" call again. He's not gonna improve anything.

How do you work that out still NO shots on target.

Performance levels, commitment, effort, that sort of thing?

Still needs to turn into goals soon though.

Can't judge shots just on that stat. A few been close. Better a shot whistling past the upright than trickling in for a comfy save.

What would u rather have? A 40 yard shot that the keeper puts his hat on (shot on target)or balls flying across the box players being clean through, obvious chances being created? (No shots on target)

Absolutely laughable. No coincidence that we fell apart last season at the end when he got injured.

The keeper can fumble a trickling shot on target. If it's going wide does it matter. It won't end up in the net.

Well that was crap - lost the game in the first 8 minutes. No shots on target but a better second half performance

Onwards and upwards

Unfortunately the only stat that really counts is goals.  Creating chances is good, but it makes no difference if 0 out of 8 are on target, or if all 8 are on target and saved easily.

Last time we won at Millwall we had 30 attempts and scored 3, so that meant 27 failed to succeed, whether on target or not.  27 goal chances where we failed.  Got promoted that season too.

But for the fans' sakes, we need goals and wins and soon!!!!

We could always hope for a deflection, but a shot on target, even a trickling shot could go in.

Of course a keeper can fumble, but a shot whistling just wide could easily have gone the other side of the post and MUCH more likely to be a goal. Shots on target is an indication of good chances, but not something to hang your hat on.

That game in 2008 was probably the best Rovers performance I've ever seen. We were magnificent from start to finish.
Happy Days 😊

Creating chances is unrelated to shots on target, you can create great chances without getting attempts in target, but creating chances means you've played well

Lost the game after 8 mins. Really need to stop giving teams a head start after ridiculous errors. Sounds like we created enough just couldnt put it away

According to BBC stats
There have only been 2 league games where we have conceded more free kicks than been awarded
We've had 13 yellow cars and 1 red. Opposition 27 yellows, no reds.

Maybe we need to be a bit more cynical on the pitch.
