W4 D1 L3.

Play-off form.

Maybe it's actually been coming together for a few weeks?

Maybe having a new manager has something to do with our upturn of form.

Ferguson coming in is the only reason form and performances have improved under Jones the performances were no different to when Dickov was in charge.

Ferguson has 3 league wins from 5. Jones and Dickov between them only managed 2 league wins from 12.

It makes you wonder where we would be in the League now if Fergie  had been with us from the start of the season.

I'll be charitable and suppose you didn't go to any of the games played under Jones because if you did and still think that then there's no hope for you.

Yes I did and they were lethargic boring performances, did you go York?

Yeah let's choose the one game that we were shit in and ignore the rest.

What was the difference between Walsall, Oldham, York, Sheff utd, Bradford compared to the games under Dickov like Wigan, Gillingham, Fleetwood, Leeds and Bury? I didn't rate Dickov and he deserved to get sacked but Jones didn't show any improvement the formation was awful. We kept ball slightly better but created no chances at all and the build up play was still so slow. Ferguson is a different level to them both.

That is a ridiculous statement.

We played very well at Walsall and were denied by a MoM performance by their keeper and a daft mistake by a kid learning his trade.

We were well in the game at Bramall Lane until ATS took leave of his senses.

We were the better side against Bradford, whose goal should never have stood.

In all of those games, we played significantly better than in any game I'd seen us play under Dickov in the previous 6 months.

I thought we were a sight better under Jones than Dickov but significantly better so far under Ferguson - still a way to go as at Posh we were very poor - and the entertainment is much better.

Maybe DF will do with us what Clough Jr did at the Blades?

I'm not arguing with what you've said. I just think what he's said is f**king stupid based on the example used.

I don't think Jones improved us at all. On occasions we looked like we were trying a bit more but in the process were less organised and disciplined than under Dickov.

Our points gained under Jones during his 5 league games in charge were identical to Dickov's last 5 games, with just one win each. When you consider Jones' only win - the very lucky one against the Dingles, it helps to confirm my opinion that we were not better under Jones.

Stop bitching about the past, it's wasted energy & serves no purpose.

The excuse for a manager we had to endure for far, far too long has gone. Let's see how we progress from here on, as I'm in no doubt we will progress.

I predict Championship football back at the Keepmoat within 2 seasons. There, that's my colours nailed to the mast.

You've heard it here first! I predict we will be back in the Championship next season, I think Fergie has instilled a winning mentality into our players and I believe we will get enough wins to end up in the top two. There you have it!

Since Fergie's been in charge. He's beaten the team's around us and been trounced by his old club and Millwall did a number on us that could av been a cricket score too. Don't get carried away just yet. The next 3 games should provide a guide to where we are in this league.

I think the main difference has been our midfield, wellens is no where near the player he has been and chaplow and gobern when he was here are crap. Middleton and grant have provided much needed legs and effort in the centre of midfield and with the class of copps just in front of them, this has been a good success so far. With the squad we have I think the 3-5-2 formation suits us well.

Ferguson has got back to back wins in the league within his first five games.

Took Dickov 35 games to do the same - admittedly in the tougher Championship.

Still took him 25 league games to do this last season in League One though.

Ferguson has been very quick in knowing what needs to be done, and taking action to rectify weaknesses. Jones stabilised things for those games in charge, the Walsall game as has been pointed out we were unfortunate not to get a point from that.
He also did reasonably well with the other games, with practically the same players Dickov left behind. Confidence was rock bottom, when we won games or came close, it was still fragile.
In my opinion the York game a few more younger players should have started, the experienced players sometimes see it as a 'punishment' almost to play in those games, when usually fringe players get a run out.
''York were really determined to win that game'', and our players just didn't do enough to get any sort of result, we deserved to get beat!.

Ferguson has brought players in that have improved energy, quality and competition for places. Under Dickov even though the side's we have been playing are teams lower down the table, we probably would have lost.
As it is, these games have been ideal for building confidence, and we can go into the tougher games with a better chance. We are right to enjoy a bit of satisfaction from these games, ''but there are tougher challenges ahead''!.

DF has a much more positive approach . ALthough Mattiotti played a less expansive game against Blackpool his two mazy incursions into their penalty area first half precluded any forward incursions from their forewarned left flank throughout the whole game .
