Never rated him as a manager, I'm convinced we wouldn't have gone up if he'd stayed instead of going to Wolves.

We may all not like the footy he played, but you really can't claim he is an awful manager you know. He did a damn good job at Wrexham and he did a damn good job for us. His time at Wolves was poor - but they were a club in feefall when he arrived and he didn't have very long to change things. He didn't improve things, but the problems were not of his making - like at Chesterfield now. if you'd said he plays awful footy I'd have agreed with you. But he has a mixed record overall - including some pretty good bits.BobG
Sorry Crippy. I don't agree. You take no account of either his achievement or the circumstances. And, you make the cardinal mistake of counting his moving to another job as a symptom of his lack of managerial quality. That's plain daft. I can only think of Wenger and Monk right now who you could not throw the same accusation at. And it bears no relation to their performance of the job anyway.CheersBobG
Who you prefer Saunders or Dickov?

Saunders built our foundation from scratch that season.BobGWhat achievement have I missed? He has won 0 promotions.

It's funny how some people forget things when they don't fit in with their prejudices. I don't like Saunders as a manager. I think his football was and is bloody awful. But he had Wrexham up in the play off places for several years (and they've never been back there since he left either), he had a bloody good season with us and he almost did the impossible at Crawley. Claiming he jumped ship as a reason for him not being a good manager shows how thin the argument is. I hope he doesn't get another job, but there's plenty worse than him around.BobG
