ST for next season - Just curious!!

After mixed conversations with quite a few people, I'm intrigued to see what the consensus is and whether we can expect a massive decline in attendance after this horrendous season.

Just for fun, but be honest. There's no right or wrong!

Just a thought if the Owls get into the prem I think it will not only effect rovers st sales but also Blades and Rotherham.

As far as I'm concerned its RTID. Doesn't matter which division we are in.

Do you thinks Blades and Millers fans will switch to become Owls fans?

why do leeds unt have such a support in Donny, drfchound I admire supporters that remain loyal I did for many a year, but the bear facts are the overall cost the entertainment value and the standard and league position, all factors to were people want to spend their Saturday afternoons. In any club you will get floating supporters and it takes a lot to keep them.

Jesus wept!

Just because my team is almost certain to go down, I am not that loosely tied to DRFC that I'll go to Sheffield to watch higher division football...  that isn't what football is about!

If I liked football, but didn't support any specific team, then fair enough, I could choose where to go.

But I am a supporter - a fan - not a spectator!

As for DRFC, I will get a ST regardless of the division we are in, if I can afford the expense at the time.  Even in Div 4 it will still be in the region of £14-£15 per game which isn't at all bad!

Both Sheff Wednesday and Leeds charge ridiculous season ticket and match day pricing that the argument about entertainment value has even less validity at either of those venues. It certainly doesn't support acko's viewpoint, but then.......

I am not talking about the true fans IDM.johnneydog asked the question weather the support would be affected in ST sales in div 2.i tried to give reasons why it would be effectd.your way of thinking must be a delight for Barnsley and Oxford both sold over 25,000 tickets last week and they will all be dashing to buy season tickets for next season.

Surely a ST holder is going to be a long term loyal supporter not someone who is an occasional spectator, so your point about cup final hangers on, acko, isn't really relevant is it?

To cut this debate short IDM I see your your point of view, but you know as well as I know people will not pay 2,3,4 hundred quid if they cant see a sign of progress for next season.IF the board support the manager and the manager gets the players in he needs to do his job people will probably buyST but you can bet your last quid it wont be until some kind of optimism is there.Intersted to know how the sales are going now.

I expect sales will suffer due to relegation then maybe pick up if we have an optimistic pre season and decent signings etc..

Why is there an assumption that not renewing your season ticket means that you must have changed the team you support?

Acko actually has a very good point if you look at Blackpools crowds when they went up a lot of my mates who go and watch other local teams all went to watch blackpool in the prem, hence them gaining 7k more fans overnight

Sm what is stupid prices? If it were say 500 for a season ticket to watch championship or premier football is that not ok? If you don't get early bird what will rovers be over 300 to watch poor football

Cat A will be £419 after the early bird deadline , unless we were to be relegated and they decide to lower prices and give a refund to early bird customers.

Sales were around the 3000 mark for this season.

I'd expect to lose a good 500 of those if not more.

Do you really think that might happen?
I think there is more chance of us staying up this season.

No one will pay the matchday price if we go down imo. Ticket prices will surly have to come down with l2 football. Have the club said anything about this Martin? Or has anyone else heard anything?

I'm not renewing for a combined reason of the cost of petrol, travelling time and lack of enjoyment/entertainment.
I'll get a ten match ticket and probably do about 15 games.
I will still renew Rovers Player, Alliance, Supporters Club and VSC.
Rovers will always be my team but after over 57 years watching I am getting a bit tired/ punch drunk.

Even at £20 per match, a ST at today's prices is still cheaper...

When football was a bit more than a pint or packet of fags you could afford to go with the change in your pocket.
The price of a ticket now makes it far harder. Then factor in any food or drink, car parking if used and programme if bought.
Having a wife and kids make it a very expensive hobby now.

Yes it's been discussed Andy, but everything is on hold until we know where we are. The first step, and the honest one, was to extend the early bird deadline. The second step will be to assess where we are, agree on a sensible budget for next season and then the ticket prices will be a reflection of that.

These stats so far suggest there will be a decrease in attendances next year by about 1500, taking them below 5,000.
