Tactics for Saturday
« on April 11, 2016, 01:29:03 pm by eastender »
Simple , give the ball to Tyson and let him tear Wabara a new one.
He's bound to give us a penalty or 2 , he owes us big time for the amount of goals he gave away.
P.S.Looks like Wigan are fetching a few 1500 sold already.

Better make sure the driver doesn't leave before the end though cos you know what will happen.

Bit early to pick the team, but I'd go:

Matthews
Lund Alcock Butler ATS
McCullough
Coppinger Rowe Calder
Mandeville Tyson

Subs: Stuckmann, Evina, Middleton, Chaplow, Stewart, McSheffrey, Williams.

Knowing us (and the way our luck is), we'd park the bugger at the wrong end during each half.

Simple, score more goals than Wigan, can I have the job of manager ?

It's easy this football manager's job.

The worst part is the after match interviews when they haven't done as you have told them.

You can't play evina at LB he's useless as an orthodox LB Colchester found him out

My lad is mascot for the day. It was meant to be a treat for his 7th birthday!

I hope the place isn't doom and gloom!

He'll have his boots and a kit - maybe stick him up front?

I don't like 4-3-3 usually, but i think i would try it for this game. McSheffrey central for a goal threat, Stewart and Tyson rotating sides. Taylor-Sinclair left back where i think he is better, Alcocks experience at right back, and have a look at Lund at centre back rather than right back.
McCullough doing the donkey work winning the ball back, Chaplow helping plus hopefully keeping possession of the ball better than Rowe would. Because for me it was between the two who played. I would bring Stewart in for Coppinger a bit more pace and maybe more of a goal threat if he gets in the right positions.

                                  Matthews

                             Lund         Butler

                        Alcock                      Taylor-Sinclair

                               McCullough   Chaplow

                                          McSheffrey

                         Stewart                                Tyson

                                            Williams

subs.Mandeville, Coppinger, Middleton, Evina, Rowe, M'Buti, Stuckmann

I really hope that ATS has a get out clause - he has (other than maybe a couple of games) been stand out woeful in a season of woe fullness

Would that be deliberately or by accident Derek ?

Tactics for the fans should be to just go and try to enjoy yourselves as much as you can. Make your own entertainment and see what happens.
I've accepted that we are down and being miserable won't help my drive home after the game.

My tactics for Saturday are to get to the pub for about 12 and hopefully drink enough to dull the pain of another home defeat, shout some abuse at ATS and Wabara then back to the pub to chew things over.

To be honest Steve they could be penalties, own goals, anything so long as we get more than the opposition.

Bruce Forsythe used to say" points make prizes".  I say " GOALS WIN GAMES."

Ryan...I think you could do a job in our midfield mind.

I wonder if  it is a case of how many goals we can stop Wigan scoring?

The pressure is off now, the players aren't expected to pull it off, so they should just relax and try and play good football, make the chances and see what happens.
The pressure is on Wigan they are expected to roll us over, it would be nice if the players can give us a good performance and hope for the future.
If i was Ferguson i would tell them to go out and enjoy the game, the pressures off, everybody is betting on Wigan to beat us by a cricket score, i would be saying 'I have just heard the Wigan manager saying this lot are easy, they haven't got any guts, this is an easy three points lads'!.

Just for it all out attack, we can't defend anyway, if we try and keep it tight we won't manage it, better to concede early looking for a goal than let one in with five minutes left, they really have nothing to lose now!.
We might as well go back to how he was doing things when he first came in and try and outscore the opposition. Get an early goal and keep looking for another one.

Sammy. We can't attack either. Check the stats. See how few goals we have scored recently.

I know we have been terrible both ends, but the manager should plan we will let at least one in, and with what he has just have a go, plenty of crosses into the box, pressure the keeper, work hard and pressure the opposition higher up the field and see if we get lucky!.
We are due a stroke of luck, we haven't had much go for us for a long while. They haven't all been terrible performances, lapses of concentration and just pure bad luck have also took points from us!.

Tactics for Saturday - hope Wigan don't turn up, hope we turn up, hope we don't score too early so we upset them, hope we score!

Defend stoutly for 89 minutes and hit them with a late sucker punch! I'm afraid I've lost all hope this season and, although I'll be there shouting us on, I can only see bad things happening!
