Fergie goes, new manager who should it be?
« on April 13, 2016, 01:17:15 am by les@donr »
My choice Gary Johnson, done a brilliant job a Cheltenham with little or no money. Cleared out every player who took the team down, now looks to have got the new squad promotion back to the FL. Could do the same for us, am much more experienced manager than either Dickov or Fergie.

Rob Jones.

Looking back maybe he didn't do that bad. If 3 managers can't do good then it's the squad. He did also show he had contacts by bringing in Keshi and that Horsfield kid, even though we played him out of position.

I'm willing to stick by Ferguson and see what he does over the Summer. I like the fact that he says it how it is in interviews, but I can't help but think what could've been if we'd have taken Michael Appleton instead of John Ryan's mate, Paul Dickov.

Also, I'd love to see Neil Warnock manage us - the best FL manager there is, in my opinion.

Johnson was appointed at Cheltenham to keep them up he failed and they went down
He was then given the chance to build his own side and it's worked
So it's a big contradiction to then suggest he then take over from a manager who has also failed
By suggesting Johnson you're suggesting a manager should be given the summer after he's failed

Fergies dad would be a good choice, he's not doing much at the moment.

Coppinger as player manager next season, he'll be the next Eddie Howe.

Has Copps got the official qualifications?

And then has he demonstrated the necessary leadership qualities?

Qualifications count for shit if both Dickov and Ferguson had them.

Certainly NOT Rob Jones.
For those who thought Dickov was bad, Jones few games in charge were even worse to watch.
Like Fergie, he has had his chance.

I don't think you are being fair on Johnson. He didn't have many games to keep them up, and had a bunch of players like ours resigned to relegation. He built a new team from scratch and on the verge of promotion. I call that success. He also did it with Yeovil.

Paul Tisdale, stabilised a team that used to struggle a fair bit on very little money spent.

Yes he built his own team from scratch after failing yet in the next breath your saying Ferguson shouldn't be given the chance to build his own team after failing, who has also previous success with another club

It doesn't sound like Fergie is planning on going anywhere. I just hope we don't waste another season for the sake of giving a manager "time."

I hope he stays ...  !He is a positive thinker who sees the club  and the current squad as it is ! He is able to make the clear distinction between the club and the playing staff as I also try to do.  He clearly subscribes to the strategies on which the club has to be run in the future .

Despite the disappointment at the way our playing staff has performed (over the last three seasons)  I think good times will return . That is provided  Messrs Baramall and Watson keep faith with their stated beliefs and stick by the CEO and Team Manager they  appointed to carry through the long term plans . I believe that would be consistent with the values they have displayed throughout these last three turbulent years .

Overall things have gone terrible under Ferguson, but i think the board see him as the right man, so he will be in charge for pre season.

On the BBC L1 page there is an article about the Peterborough Chairman.
He says that the performances by the team are just not good enough and the capitulation after their FA Cup loss to WBA is not acceptable.
He also says that no-ones job is safe.
How i wish that our Chairman or owners would come out with something similar and show show passion and interest with what is going on at our club.
