Kitson of the season 2015/16
« on April 26, 2016, 12:25:36 pm by Bentley Bullet »
It's that time of year again when we can reflect on the events of the season, and who's been the biggest Jeremy Hunt during that period.

Strange really considering our league position, that there doesn't seem to be many stand-out contenders. Perhaps it's the Rochdale ref? Perhaps its a forum member, perhaps it's ME! (ridiculous though it seems!)

Anyway, who do YOU think should be awarded the title?

Paul Dickov for giving away 2 points on the beginning of the season.

Or Forrester for putting it in the net in the first place!

My vote goes to the Bradford player who elbowed Andy Butler in the first minute leading to their tap-in goal, and the officials for missing it.

As for my own vote, was it Stuart Attwell who put in a shambolic refereeing performance down at the Moat a few months ago? I cannot remember the game now but I remember coming away thinking the man was a disgrace to the profession...again.

Perhaps harsh, but... Curtis Main? Useless for us, but Messi-like for Oldham?

Odd as it may seem I think this season has suffered from one incident early last season.

I am referring to the sending off of Forrester vs Port Vale.  First of all his challenge was to win the ball, and not a red card offence - possibly a yellow for dangerous play.  But on another day we would have had a penalty for the foul on Forrester and then we maybe go 2-3 with 12-13 minutes to play.

Forrester then has a 3 game ban, and comes back gung ho and gets another suspension.  After that he is inconsistent and erratic, apart from the Boxing Day game vs Coventry.

Lets think if he hadn't been sent off vs Port Vale we COULD then have had a settled player leading our attack.  Hmmm...

We didn't and of course we can't change it.  But the mid table performance and poor entertanment at home has carried on this season, and since January, got much worse.

There may be many more examples but I consider that decision vs Port Vale as a significant "sliding doors" moment!

I'll nominate the bell end who kept setting off smoke bombs in the away end at Scunthorpe. I was quite close to them and the stench was awful, my eyes were stinging and whilst I wouldn't go so far as to say I struggled to breathe, it certainly wasn't as easy as normal!

Stuart Attwell was bad, but for refereeing muppetry of the highest order, the clown who "refereed" the Peterborough game gets my vote. Failed to do his job probably by giving a second yellow to a visiting player and also failed to award a penalty for a blatant case of holding on Andy Butler.

My nomination goes to Mr Sebastian Stockbridge. Dishonourable mentions to Messrs Keith Hill, Mark Robins and Graham Westley for their anti-football approach. The consolation is that the latter two are no longer employed as football managers.

You beat me to it - HF COULD have been such an influential player last season and this.  He wasn't, and I think that decision was the catalyst.

Do you mean him that doesn't speak clearly and when he says 'Middleton' it sounds like 'number ten'?

What?

I think it's great that we use the word 'Kitson'. It's accurate, funny and better than seeing the c-bomb all over the place.

Sammy,  I think you'll find its Kitson, and not cock. It does make me giggle when I see people using Kitson instead.
