just checked it isn't April 1st

(A) you can be sent off before the match starts but a substitute will be allowed
(b) at a kick off you can now pass the ball backwards
(c)"Player accidentally losing boot allowed to "continue playing until play next stops".
em is't this called a health and safety issue - if the player without the boot gets tacked he's liable to get annoyed

(d)Under-shorts must be same colour as shorts - or the hem"  kids who must have the complete kit can spend a bit xtra
(e)Messi, Ronaldo etc who feint when taking penalty now punished with yellow card & indirect freekick. No retake. Stuttering runs still allowed
there are lots more changes not as stupid as this

some very significant

Anything remotely sensible like allowing physios to come on and treat "injured"/dying players as in rugby hence stopping the cheating, play acting ar**holes benefiting from their antics

I also said I would never mention these 2 again ... but I just cant help it. I am sure they would improve things

1) As soon as a goal is signalled by the Ref the clock stops. Then the conceding team does not get punished twice. Let the scoring Team have their well rehearsed goal celebrations - let them form pyramids and blow kisses to their 10 fans ... it would matter not as the game clock would not restart till the conceding Team kicked off again

2) When a Substitution is being made stop the clock and then even if the Player being substituted is at the furthest point on the pitch and he applauds everyone in the Crowd individually and wastes 5 minutes limping off it wont matter because the Clock wont start till he is off and the new Player is on

Simples but I wont hold my breath waiting for "action" and I don't know how I could progress the ideas

The colour of the cycling shorts/skin tight tops players wear under the kit. Those are skins.

That rule has been around for ages, but like rigo says no-one ever enforced it.

Keepers used to have to wear the same colour socks and shorts as the rest of their team.
When did that rule change?
Anyone know?

Taking throw in from where the ball went out( not 20 yards away) and the unpunished wrestling at corners are my biggest bugbears where I think the rules should be changed/enforced.

I've seen it enforced a few times at non-league level, especially when it first came in the 90s.

Remember one Rossington FC player making a point to the referee when he threatened to book him if he didn't remove his cycling shorts by proceeding to get b****ck naked from the waist down in the middle of the pitch.

Wasnt this enforced at Elland Road in 2011/2012? I remember Chimbonda didnt start the match as he had to go back into the changing room at the Referee's request.

The skins rule has been in place for a while, just not all referees choose to enforce it.

The biggest change I want to see next season is the following...

'The Football League can confirm that our worst referee, the useless arrogant never-wrong tosspot that is Trevor Kettle, has officially been dropped. After 13 years, we've finally realised that he puts the height into sh*te.'

I think i heard that Kettle officially retired after last match of the season,i hope that is true one less kitson to worry about.

Sod that, just allow the conceding team to be able to restart ten seconds after the goal has been scored regardless of where the scoring team's players are. Then we'll see how important it is to the scoring side to prat about celebrating rather than getting back into their own half and getting on with it...

Simple solution - give the linesman foam sprays as well so they can mark where the ball went out and the throw-in should be taken from...

I don't see what's stupid about this rule apart from it not including the stuttering run as well. It's ungentlemanly conduct and should have been clamped down on ages ago

Stop giving red cards for "denial of obvious goalscoring opportunity" offences which result in a penalty kick - what is a penalty if not an obvious goalscoring opportunity??

(unless the offence itself is worthy of a red card or is a second yellow)

that would work for me too ! would love to see them scampering back before next ko

at the moment it pees me off when we concede right on 90 mins then opposition take forever celebrating and you just know the ref wont add all the "lost " time back on

why not go a step further and give a goal ?

suarez hand ball for instance ... he had to stop that shot illrgally as his keeper was not capable of stopping it

unfair on opposition as LS had nowt to lose by cheating and compounded by opposition missing crucial Pen ... so award goal but no red card

That option would only work if the handball was clear ie not in front of the player's body and on the goal line where you are denying a goal, never mind an opportunity.

A bit semantic I know, but Suarez wasn't cheating - he didn't try to con anyone, he offended and was punished within the rules.  You could argue that he "took one for the team" - although the consequences in that case were about as serious as it comes!

Goal kicks just have to be taken inside the 6yrd box don't they?

Yes but they can be taken from either side.
The Burton keeper wasted time on Saturday when the ball went out on one side of his goal. He retrieved the ball, went behind the goal to the opposite side, paused and then went across the front of goal to the side that he had started from.
It was worth a booking for blatant time wasting.

Good call ... ought to revert to Kick being taken from side of Goal it went out. We all get p****d off watching opposition keepers wasting time and all their little "tricks" so why assist them to do it. Get rule back as it was imo

4th Sub in extra time allowed
sanction of  red card, sending off and suspension for a non violent foul resulting in a penalty now only yellowcard .
player injured by a yellow or red carded foul may now be treated on field and not obliged to go off .

Two other new rules coming in from August :-

At a corner all players from the defending team must put there arms around an attacking player so that he cannot get to the ball.

At a penalty all outfield players must be in the penalty area when the ball is struck.

I'd like to see a trial of rolling subs. I wonder what the game would be like with a specialist kick taker coming on for set-pieces.

Perhaps we should allow helmets too.

Rolling subs, Sin binning, video technology  and Official timers should all be introduced. Rugby league is Miles ahead when it comes to  implementing common sense improvements.
