Thinking of heading to town tonight for the game (ballers?) Any suggestions where to go? With the wife & want a good atmosphere but don't want covering in beer & piss if we score.

My mates have booked a table in the Sal. Be good in there if you're with the missus.

2 questions - how big is the big screen, because the one on twitter looks a big small and naff, and will it only be Carlsberg that's sold? that's probably a daft one but since it's a Carlsberg fan park...

Answers as far as I can!

serving far more than Carlsberg tonight. Prices are same/better than many town centre places and the screen is the same size as the one in the stadium, but better definition and picture.

San Miguel
Carlsberg
Tetley
Somersey Cider and other wines etc £2 entrance for adults, 50p for kids - sounds alright to me! Worth a look-see at least!

Apparently it's been open since the albania v switzerland game. The class of 92 are there now after their game. It has been bubbling all day with the tournament and kit launch.

There's been a few hundred people there throughout today.

All sounds positive to me!

Few more than frosty at the moment! Screen looks good - pity the rain's started - trying to get a pic of screen up but not sure how to do it from the phone! Lol!

The concept is great - weather's unfortunately likely to kibosh it tonight!

If england do well and you're not in france it'll be well worth getting down here as the games progress in my opinion!

It has been so long since I saw us score at the Keepmoat that I don't really remember whether we do this or not.

Watched it in Urban. £1 a bottle of Carlsberg. It's not just the hooliganism rolling the clock back 30 years.

It certainly wasn't for the cinema today when I went past in pouring rain too which won't help. Not surprised though, when I lived in Leeds they used to do outdoor cinema things in the complex where I lived.  It was free and in the city centre. Out the town and at 7.50 it was never likely to be successful today.

At the start of the england game there were around 70 people there (a rough count) but by the time the rain really kicked in there were unfortunately (but understandably) very few left - I left just after half time as I was wringing wet through! However I stand by what I said earlier in the thread - the concept is good and should work well should england do well and the weather hold! I'll be going again for sure!

Town centre near the new theatre would be a far better location for things like this. It won't work next to the stadium, bad weather or not.

I don't disagree with the town centre spot frost but fair play to the club for trying it! I still think it could be a goer tho!

I think what's been forgotten is that this is Britain in the summer. You always need a contingency plan - eg "if wet in church hall."
