I'm guessing ACL. Probably similar to Taylor Sinclair.

V bad for him. V bad for Rovers. Need to shape both midfield and defence now.

ATS is up and about walking, what injury lasts 10 months?

Probably means our loan targets will change again. Defender and holding midfielder probably higher priority than a striker now.

He got through entire last season without moving so good to hear he is now walking.

You can walk about with a torn ACL and do non-weight bearing stuff but you can't do anything that involves twisting and turning until it's fully healed and you've built up the muscles.

ATS was injured in May and we're looking at him coming back in about Feb if all goes well. That will be about the same timescales as Luke.

He had such an important role sitting in front of the defence, needs replacing. Got no-one else like him currently, bar Keegan but doubt he could stay fit and injury free for a season

If this doesn't force Fergie's hand in the transfer market, nowt will.

At least we know we must sign a player either on a season long loan, or a 1 year permanent contract - none of this sing a player for a year where the injury may be fixed sooner!

I'd say we are in need of 3 players to cover injuries, Right back: only have Lund, Centre Half, only have Butler as Wright doesn't seem able to complete a game, Defensive midfield, Keegan and Middleton? both injured add to that the need for a pacey striker.

2 Defs plus a MF, at least.  We have just signed the young lad as a striker, so Luke's position is a priority IMHO.

Oh shit. That's a big, big blow already.

As above, this was his season to step up and become a man, cementing his place with that holding midfield role.

Anyone got a number for Mark Wilson's agent?

We desperately need a defensive midfielder in. Keegan is always injured and past it, Middleton i still don't think is good enough yet.

Terrible for the lad and Club.

As I've said elsewhere - unprecedented. Unbelievable injuries. Whatever plans DF had, he may as well start again.

Could have said that last season when we needed defenders

Disaster

What we need in the whole first 11 is a bunch of players that progressively bond through the season. Arguably this position is even more key in that way. A series of loans won't work, but neither will a panic buy. Fingers crossed that Fergie pulls an ace from the pack on this one.

Disaster of epic proportions as Luke would have been a key player for us this season in that holding role. Really tough on the lad after what must have been a great experience in France over the summer - let's hope he comes back stronger.

Suppose the new loan rules kind of dilute this effect though to be fair.

So now is the time to bring in the player " supposedly " DF as been tracking. If he can do the job we need him now.
This was Luke's season it's why we did not bring in Paul Green or the "supposedly" Loanee midfield player.
It's tough on Luke. Unless " Copps can weave his magic or wipe them down with a wet flannel" then Keegan or Middleton, fit or not, are not the answer to improve our midfield.

Come now Steve.

You do know I was referring to Rowe when I said best player in the league, right?

Anyway, I would suggest we need a new CM now. We just don't look as strong with Middleton in that position I'm afraid, as much as I want the lad to succeed.

Not many available, unless you count the "Osbourne" brothers, Isacc and Isiah, neither of which seem to fill me with anticipation. Maybe DF has someone in mind , hope so.
