There is a law here in Belgium that requires Insurers to indemnify the victims of accidents caused by their policyholder but if it is proven that he was drunk then they are obliged to reclaim the money paid from the INSURED . This is ALWAYS carried through and usually with monthly reimbursements sometimes lasting for years and regulated through a court of Justice . It IS A POWERFUL DETERRENT . When I was CEO of a British Insurer in Belgium I received a plea from a mother whose 19 yr old son had driven her car whilst drunk and hit and injured a child pedestrian who sustained disfiguring injuries . Since the mother of the drunken driver was a widow and was our policyholder ,we as a company felt some sympathy, but the law constrained us from any waiver of the recourse .
When you report drivers drinking to the police they do nothing
more than once not only me even a barmaid gave name and make and reg
Its not jumping into action for me its the law so you would let him get of with it , if he kills one of yours heaven forbid and nobody does anything about it ,we are as guilty has him Name and address was given of the person and where he is drinking

Because until then, they haven't broken the law. What do you want them to do, wait for them instead of doing some real police work?

How do you expect them to do that from just being given a name and address and where they're drinking?
