Humberside Police have warned they will adopt a policy of zero tolerance towards trouble-makers from Millwall and Doncaster who will be travelling to northern Lincolnshire this Saturday (December 17) for football fixtures at Scunthorpe and Grimsby.

A three-way operation will be mounted by officers from Humberside, South Yorkshire and British Transport Police to avoid a potential flare-up at Doncaster railway station.

Insp Will Jenkins, the match commander for Scunthorpe United's match against Millwall, said: "We are working in partnership with our colleagues in South Yorkshire Police – who are leading on the Grimsby Town v Doncaster Rovers match – and British Transport Police to ensure that both matches are safe, enjoyable, family occasions.



 

 
"A zero tolerance approach will be taken towards anyone planning to come along to get involved in violence and disorder.

"This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated and we will take the strongest possible action against anyone found to be involved."
