Was it before the DDR?Clockwork were not a 'they' as from what I recall 'clockwork' was a chap that drank in the saracens head pub and went to rovers .Said chap is at least a good 5+ years older than me.i can say that he was never part of the ddr as his lot were from the older generation .A close mate of mine has mentioned him in passing many a time as my mate used to drink in the saracens with clockwork. Some of the older chaps on here will or should know clockwork.

Not on Facebook, how would you categorise the football fans in England?I'll have a stab in the dark of what I believe football fans come under with regard to FV and I think there are five categories!1 - Not interested what so ever.... I believe that most people who follow football around the country would claim to be have no interest at all in FV and who avoid any chance of being apart of disorder if it happened at a match. This vast majority was probably smaller in the 80's.2 - I'd rather not.... firstly I would put myself in this category. For me going to the game is a social highlight. Having a good drink and a crack with your mates home and away is as important as the game itself. I'd happily chat with opposing fans and interact in a friendly manner. All though terrace banter shouldn't ever be taken away from our game.3 - if it kicks off, it kicks off.. these types are likely to be not to dissimilar from the category above but would be willing to be engaged in toe to toe activity if provoked. Might I add, I believe the vast majority off today's casuals who might claim to be apart of a certain firm come under this heading but for there ego wouldn't admit it and would claim to be in number 4 below. I believe most DDR will come under this category.4 - just woke up, I'm up for it today.... ones who actively engage in arranged meet ups. I've no doubt fans fall in to this category even today, likely to be more prevalent following a bigger club with history of FV. back in the 70's and 80's larger proportion will have fallen into this category! 5 - I'm going to kick the f**k out of who ever.... an example of this would be the wolves youths who nearly killed that Watford (shirty) fan Even though he had no interest in trouble. Another example, a Leeds fan (from Leeds) who I work with told me about a group of Leeds fans who kicked the shit out of a 70 year old man united fan in a car park near Elland Road when they played each in that league cup match a couple of years ago! So pal, do you believe I'm about right with the category, please advise on what you believe to be correct. Finally, not knowing you personally but if you don't mind I would put you somewhere between 3 and 4 dependent on the fixture, of course this is a judgement from you many posts on the subject over the years!
