Cool story.

Watford got promoted, swapped managers, and did very well.

How outlandish to think it could be possible elsewhere.

They finished 13th.

I've not known a team finish 13th in the Premier League and get relegated, but sure, whatever you say.

Glad we don't have a board like that, but whatever floats ya boat

You do realise they're still in the Premier League don't you?

👍 my mistake, thought they'd been down and come back up again.
Point is though they change managers every year,
We don't want a model like that surely

Different strokes for different folks. If it works for them, I don't see an issue. Same with Brentford and the 'moneyball' stuff. People are always so afraid of innovation in football. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But I appreciate I'm in the minority here. Possibly of one.

There's no way this bloke isn't just on a wind up

Course he's on a wind up - our collapse during the last few games has been like winning the lottery to the likes of Syme, who enjoys nothing better than chucking a grenade of b*llocks out there to get a reaction!

There'll come a point, and I reckon there's a good chance it's before February next season, that everyone will want him out.

I'm just ahead of the curve tis all

As disappointing as the last few weeks have been we are as a club/business much better off than before DF
Hopefully he has learnt a lot about himself, management and his players
As good a player as Copps is we need a leader on the pitch too and I don't see him as captain

Who knows what'll happen between now and Feb Syme? You might be right. However, you've titled the thread 'Ferguson Out' and not 'Let's see how he does during the first 6 months of the next season and if we're doing badly then the club should review his position' which would have been more sensible. Like I say, you're on a wind up...losing on Saturday has given you the opportunity for a bit of mischief making.

As I've said Herbert, I want him out now, not in February. I just suspect by then a few more might share the view.

LOL, so certain he was right that he emphasised the point.

However, didn't we change our manager last season then get relegated?

We also changed our manager the last time we were promoted.

To the worst manager we've had since we come up from the Conference.

I think L1 or 2 is his level, he was found out at Preston. That is why I would settle for top or middle of L1, we also cannot compete financially in the championship, we won many matches but players wore their hearts on their sleeves, we could never match the big clubs financially and that showed in the end IMO

Correct bally, whoever had been our manager in the Championship would have struggled to keep the team up on our limited finances.

Even though it was in our hands in the last 8 games.

What did we need, one extra point?

There seems to be a trend.

Aye relegation is the same as promotion isn't it.

When our game against Leicester finished we were still in the division. What relegated us was an injury time goal by Birmingham.

What relegated us was not getting enough points to stay up.

One extra point would have still left us a point behind first and second, we needed three points given Portsmouth goal difference

Ah Mr Frost and Syme the voices of reason And utter b*llocks.Always a knee jerk reaction without explaining.or giving in depth reasons for the reaction other than a couple of bad  results.
Every team has them,Cooke at Portsmouth, and the Plymouth manager have both been slaughtered at some point in the last season, and the Exeter manager despite all having great seasons.
It is the trend of the forums giving a voice to never beens, and before you say it, just like myself, but just try and give better reasons than a few bad results,if this bad run had happened in January and we had recovered to pinch third place on the last day,the mood of everyone would be ecstatic.
I dont know about Syme and Mrfrost though they could have committed suicide in January.

Selby, I agree that if the bad run had been in January and we had recovered to take third place the I too would have been happy with that.
The point is though, that wasn't the case was it.

I wonder if it's only Rovers fans who call for the head of the manager during a promotion winning season or if it's a common in football? Pretty silly really but there you go! I don't know if many of the doomsayers on here were around in the 70's, 80's & 90's but if they were they'd have been f**king apoplectic if this is how they react to promotion! Still, nowt as strange as folk I suppose!

Anyway, I for one have enjoyed this season on the whole and I'll leave Mr Frost, Syme and the like to spend the summer coming up with something else to moan about. Stay happy fellas 😄
