Issam Ben Khemis
« on July 27, 2017, 05:53:11 pm by RobTheRover »
Just wanted to gather everyone's thoughts.

Has he shown enough in the friendlies to warrant a contract?  Would he compliment what we have?  Does he have scope to develop with us?

Thoughts?

Yes, there's definitely some Khemistry between him and the other players.

Not sure whether he'd compliment what we have, suppose it depends how nice he is and whether he can articulate those thoughts in English.  ;)

As I thought he was a young local lad, my initial impression was wow, where have we got this lad from..   He wanted the ball, was fast and had good vision..  It's a yes from me...

It's a no brainer for me, very skilful player with bags of energy, he could become the new Coppinger.

We are lacking in adequate central defenders with insufficient numbers To choice from. Another season is here and injuries are with us again and DFs attentions seem to be looking to other positions where numbers are in abundance.

Very interesting point that I don't think anyone has made.

What's your thoughts on Ben k?

Its a yes from me. He can quite easily be a Copps of the future. While they are big boots to fill Copps is not going to play forever and this lad can learn a lot from him, he certainly has the talent.

The two people who've put no have either not seen him play or don't know a footballer when they see one.

Both, signing Ben Khemis isn't going to piss rest of the budget away.

Fergie will choose attacking talent over defensive every time.

Do you know something we don't & we have to choose Susan or are you being presumptuous.

Yes and there lays the problem , we still don't have a proven back four that isn't made of dwarfs.

We should sign him. Plus the other midfield players and at the same time sign a centre halve if they all loans don't care as long as we sign them before the window shuts.

Not been to any of the friendlies so can't form my own judgement. But based on what others have said, and assuming it's an affordable package, it sounds like we should definitely sign him.

Stop derailing a thread. This isn't about defenders x

Someone could come up to you, hand you a winning lottery ticket and I bet you'd respond with "this is fine, but we need to sign more defenders you know!"

Id sign him,, but even after that were still light

Butler and alcock,, cover or not they're not the answers in the long term. Butler is not and never should be a centre back unless its dire circumstances!!!!

Not been to the friendlies but from what I have read I think he has got to be worth a deal.

Hope the club actually do more for him than they have previous foreign players who have had to move over to the country. Thats not a dig,but a observation based on a previous player who came into England not speaking any English and they just left him to fend for himself.
No house,no nothing and hardly a brilliant wage to get sorted.

We are lucky we've got Baudry who is French speaking as well and a really nice lad. I saw Ben getting off the bus and walking off the pitch at Guiseley and noticed there was no interaction with him from any of the other players. I do hope they are making him feeling welcome. It must be difficult as a young lad going to a foreign country but he looks completely unphased on the pitch. You'd think under the circumstances there has to be more to come.

Tbh he probably speaks better English than some people walking round Donny town centre.
As he has featured in a few games now and been around the squad for a while I would expect him to sign fingers crossed he will today or tomorrow before the game
