Two defeats to two strugglers, no goals in three. 12th is looking optimistic. It could be a long old season. Is league 2, DF's limit?

How many times has he won promotion from League One?

What I don't think he is capable of, is pulling a team out of a bad run.

Agree on that Frosty, look at the end of last season. I think these are worrying times form wise.

Anyone insinuating we are on a bad run is crazy.

Would be interesting to hear from anyone who went today how we played? Was this another good performance and unlucky to not take points, or where we not at races?

Ferguson has only won ten games for us at League One level, so he needs to start somehow putting teams to the sword or else we are going to struggle again.

One win in six League One games this season is below his overall average win ratio for us in League One (10 wins in 41 games) so not hugely great start this season, but the performances have shown some real positivity in spells.

One win in six, and without a goal in three games. Would you call it a good run?

Er...no league win since 12 August...constitutes a poor run to me?

I think he does need to consider dropping players who aren't performing e.g. Blair and Marquis.

I'm not panicking, however, if we don't win one of our next two games, I think we could be in trouble.

Northampton in their last four games played the top three teams and the team that was eighth so they beat us not a surprise really.

Far too small of a sample size to even judge.

Marquis has scored twice in last 14 games.

We've been poor in the last two away game and decent in all the other games we've played. That's the long and the short of it.

We will never be out of trouble this season anybody who thought the players we have will take this league by storm were wrong. We should get better but it will be ups and down.

Northampton have won once in their last 15 games - against us today.

Every side who has played them this season has scored - except us today.

I thought we'd be comfortable in mid table. We are better than a relegation battle.

We've played 6 games and lost two, also having a good go at the cup competitions and people are still crying into their pints. Northampton were always going to react today after getting a new gaffer, we were poor but could have nicked it at the end. Cheer up.

I feel DF doesn't know his strongest 11 or the formation which suits the team he fields. I dont believe for one second that Garratt can play as part of a back 3. I havent been today but I feel he has got selection and formation totally wrong in the first half and DF is becoming notorious for this. You have also got to feel for Alfie May, I dont see how Mandeville or Marquis deserve a start in his place on current form and lastly losing Danny Andrew is catastrophic. His delivery into strikers and from set pieces will cost us points. Just my opinion and im sure things will get better.

I think Marquis needs a spell on the bench, looks a shadow of the player from last season

I said this last week and was shouted down.

Williams can score at this level. He needs to start on Tuesday.

It took an nearly an hour to get our best XI available on the pitch.

We accept he's being cautious with Houghton however, I don't think there's many who'd argue against starting with the finishing XI next match.

The season starts now!

Regarding Houghton, I'm sure he's desperate to throw him in but he's got to seem to be doing the professional thing as Chelsea will be watching! He will start on Tuesday and never look back.

No need for immediate panic but lose on Tuesday night and we have to think that we ARE on a bad run and it needs addressing asap. The sides we have lost against thus far are sides we should beat on our day. Thought today's starting line up was interesting - once again Copps was the creative player when he came on and made a difference - just too late !

2015/16 season when Ferguson took us down from League One. He was in charge for 35 League One games that season and he took 35 points. One point per game.

2017/18 season and we are back in League One. We have played six games so far in League One and have six points. One point per game.

Consistency, correlation, chance or catastrophe? Your choice.
