ten quid for seniors.

++++++++++ Donnywolf in repeat gripe shocker +++++++++++
If you are a Scunny Fan aged 60 or 60 and a Day you get to watch the Game at The Keepmoat for £10

If there is a Replay and you are a Rovers Fan you could be 64 and 364 days and you will be paying £15 because you are not yet a concession in their book

This happens a lot and your only comfort is that if you are 60 plus you benefit from Rovers generous stance on Concessions for Home Tickets and especially Season Tickets.

15 quid vs say Oldham would be no real complaints.

15 quid vs Scunny is a good deal.

Wolfie, i have just turned 65 but for quite a while now, if the away seniors tickets are for people over 65 (officially) the girls in our ticket office have let me have the cheaper seniors rate.

I think the stance with our club is that if you are on our system as a senior supporter, you get senior supporter concessions on away tickets.
That is how I have always been treated anyway.Unfortunately it  is not a problem for me now and has not been for a while.

I believe in the £20 Plenty campaign by the FSF.

League matches are the bread and butter. Cup games, unless you get a novel away tie early on or progress through to the later rounds and get a plum tie, aren't that glamorous.

It should be £10 and £5, but if clubs can get away with charging more then they'll always do it.

I still don't think you're being reasonable at all. £15 is not a lot to go and watch a third tier football game these days. "Twenty's Plenty" indeed...£15 is less than that.

Padge god forbid we play Man U or Spurs or Chelsea away if we are lucky enough to get through this round then,if their league cup prices are anything to go by.
Suppose you will be there then, but be prepared to be fleeced.

Good evening. I’ll be at the Scunny game thanks. Not as many will be had it been a tenner. Like the majority of our cup games have been at this stage. Unfortunately we don’t have Leeds to fill our ground for us when we charged £15 for an early cup round tie.

Hull this season £10?

When I said 3k I thought we were on tv. We’ll get 4K in

Owts a bonus Padge, the big money is in the next round, if you draw a big premier club away.
Lets hope it is our year this year, god knows we have waited long enough.Scunthorpe will not be easy but we have a chance ,and they may see the league as more important, and with luck will leave Bishop at home.
The prize money for winning a round is not to be sniffed at for a club like us,and could be the difference for us signing a player in January.
Anyway it is already better than losing at Oldham away.

The campaign is for £20 in the Premier League, and pro-rata for other divisions.

£15 is still a lot of money for a game of football, it's just that English football fans have become desensitised to the cost and are prepared, through habit, to pay more.

Its a cup game, both teams have to agree on ticket price.
Dont forget its Scunnys cup final, they will want to make as much as they can.

True, but in today's world (not just with football tickets but tickets to anything), I don't think £15 is unreasonable for a game featuring two sides at this level. Anne seems to be putting this game on the same level as a League Cup game against a Championship's reserves, or the Checkatrade which isn't even senior football really, when this is the FA Cup and a game between two local rivals who will play strong sides.

It is about time something is done about the rising costs of attending football but this is a more specific complaint in this thread. In "The Price of Football" topic there's a lot of good points being made too about the wider issue but I was specifically referring to Anne's complaints in here. I don't think it's fair to criticise the club for charging £15 for this game as I believe it to be a fair price.

Say a discount with purchasing or an already registered DNA card might have been a good idea for this? Say it knocks £5 of the asking price for adults/concessions.

I went to watch Millwall at Hillsborough a couple of weeks ago. It was classed as something like a catagory D or E match and was still thirty quid to get in on a cold Tuesday night. Now that is a rip off!

RA,

Its only a fair price in comparison to other clubs and ticket prices for a standard LG1 game. And lets not forget that season ticket pricing lowers the price considerably so the actual difference is far less than a first glance. However the general point is that football is too expensive across all divisions. The £20's Plenty campaign is showing considerable gains with all EPL games fixed at £30 for away supporters, and £20 for away supporters at Southampton. We all know the reasons how they can afford to do it but it does highlight how particularly obscene ticket prices are at Elland Road and Hillsborough. Even Ipswich who have traditionally been an expensive club to visit have capitulated and dropped there's to £20 for this season.

I caught a brief article on the BBC last night where they interviewed supporters and asked them their opinion. A SWFC fan felt it was reasonable that his club charged what they did because they were investing in the team and hoped to get into the EPL. No, its not!! What about those youngsters who will never get to see live football because of the insane pricing that they have in place? Or the unemployed? This game isn't for the rich or well off, its for everybody.

Yep, again I said I agree with the wider issue but will defend the club against criticism of someone claiming this particular match price is a rip-off when it's not.

Obviously Wednesday are among the worst in the country for overcharging, the match day prices at some Championship clubs is obscene.

Wednesday and Leeds supporters enjoy paying higher prices because it helps them to make believe they are PL clubs.

I'm rather hoping we see the league as more important as well. Maybe give one or two a rest and bring in a couple who have not been playing regularly. I'd much sooner us pick up say 6 points from the three league games before then and get beat in the cup

MRFD,it would be better if we got the six points, rested a couple as you say, and still get to the next round.
Fergie did look as if he was after a cup run at ebbsfleet by picking a strong line up against a non league team though.

I would never us sooner get beat in the cup by anyone, least of all Scumthorpe. Why cant we pick up points in the next few games and progress in the cup? Getting through to the next round of the cup could benefit our league progression no end on different fronts, you may call me a dreamer, but im not the only one  :rtid:

Well yes, I'd like us to get 9 points from three next 3  games and beat Scunthorpe in the cup, but it's not going to happen is it?
The league is far more important than the cup. If we were only to pick up 2 or 3 points from the next 3 league games we'd probably be right up shite creek without the proverbial. And then what?? Draw Man Utd away in the third round and see our form nosedive like it did when we got Arsenal in the League Cup?
Nope, let's play the strongest team we can in the league and rest a few in the cup

Listening to Radio Sheffield on the way home. Wednesday v Bristol City is £33 cheapest ticket. Unbelievable.
