Looks very doubtful as per this from a Blackburn fan retweeted by Liam Hoden

At least it isn't like Oldham a few years ago where they were all youth teamers apart from Dean Furman.

This possibility was mentioned on here a few times recently.

Big money loss. Saturday this had the potential to be 10,000 for this game. More 7500 mid week

Money loss maybe but hopefully it will give DF time to get some players back

It's going to make April very busy though. The Bury game is already on 17th. The Blackburn game would likely be on 10th or 24th. And we don't have a big enough squad to cope with a lot of games.

Of course if we can land a couple of wins between now and the end of the Easter programme a lot of the pressure will be off us.

God's sake, I think this is a stupid rule. We don't need the fixture schedule buggering up any further.

Can’t we reschedule the rescheduled Bury game for the 24 March and Blackburn for 17 April, assuming Bury’s game against Wigan is also off.

Its not a bad idea if Wigan have three internationals called up as well.

Apart from Will Grigg ( who's on fire ) do Wigan have any other internationals ? At any age group ?
Blackburn have had a couple of players called into the Eire squad and more than likely Cory Evans will be in the Northern Irish squad

I disagree with Rovers Alias. It's right that games are rescheduled It wasn't that long ago that we had 3 internationals in our squad and we had games cancelled. No one thought it was silly then.

Mati Sarkic who is/was on loan at Wigan for six months earlier in the season is a Montenegro youth international.

If he's still there and they have a U21s game, he'd count.

Born in Grimsby but qualifies through his dad.

I think they changed the rules so that loans don't count.

My bank manager and I say make the "buggers" play even if they field 9 black puddings and 2 "Venky" chicken wing-ers

Phil

I thought it was silly then. How can it be fair to postpone a game just because 3 players are missing, on international duty, when clubs are often made to cope when they have up to 9 or 10 first teamers injured? Just look at how our squad has been ravaged by injury this season. I think those kind of circumstances are more justifiable as a reason for postponement than bloody international friendlies.

I’m not sure it is a stupid rule. It’s just a rule.

Charlie Mulgrew has been named in the Scotland squad.

Not sure whether players being named in a provisional squad counts, so we may have to wait a few more days.

This game's not going to happen, is it?

Well, looks like that's a return train ticket up from London rendered worthless... and a fanzine without a game at which to sell it.

Jayson Leutweiler called up by Canada.

In the last international weekend Wigan's game at Rochdale was called off.

Unless Keith Hill's turned Rochdale into some attractive destination for continental footballers, Wigan must have 3 players knocking around in their team who are international standard.

Will Grigg asked not to be considered for this squad, so I think Wigan's game will be on.

This now means 4 of our last 5 games are at home. Let's hope we can ride a wave of positive momentum to certain safety.
