Funny you should say that.
People still like to have a pop.
Even last week people have been saying that they were still looking over their shoulders, before the last two victories.
We had a poor start to the season didn’t we and people were concerned, justifiably, not moaning.
Over the last twenty odd matches we have been in good form and things have turned round markedly.
So much so that there are now murmurings of hitting the top six.
That is football, things like that happen.

Fergie out, he can’t turn around a losing run.

Dickos,  the winky was meant to show that I was joking. DF has gone some way to redressing the last relegation. A good pre season on the recruiting front and we could be looking at further improvement next season.

Wasn’t replying to you mate
Just in reference to what a couple of people kept constantly banging on about a few months back.
Not heard it for a while nor have I heard he can’t stop a poor run for a while

Funny that

At the time of writing, he couldn't stop a poor run. He's since managed to do so. I have given credit for this on several occasions. It's you that keeps bringing it back up.

Keep bringing it back up?
Gaz mentioned it,

He had managed to do so numerous times over the years for us and Peterborough. But people were saying he’s never ever stopped a poor run. Just like he’s never ever managed to gain more than 1ppg.

We’re looking like finishing midtable which most were stating they’d be delighted with yet throughout the season have done little more than complain about being midtable

I think that most people actually said that they would be delighted with mid table, like I did for example.
The concerns were raised when we looked like free falling again and DF kept tinkering with the team.
It can’t be denied that our early season form and results were not great.

Like other posters who voiced concerns I have since praised DF for turning things around.

I’m afraid any side that is going to finish midtable is going to have spells in the season where they go through a bad patch.

The point is that when people were voicing concerns, no one knew at that time that we were going to finish in mid table.

Of course not, Nobody knows in October where a side is going to finish, but if you’re hoping for midtable then you should recognise that at some point during the season you’re going to have a bad few weeks.

Hoping for and achieving are very different things.
Our early season results didn’t give some supporters hope that we could achieve mid table and so concerns were voiced, justifiably.
For example, Chesterfield had a bad start and are still in trouble.
Are their supporters who voiced early season concerns right or wrong for being concerned and were they justified, bearing in mind that in October some of them may have thought they may be ok and recover to mid table.

The point is that more time needs to be given before people throw their toys out.
October is far too early to be saying it’s not good enough, there’s 46 games in a season and unless our expectations are to win the league then we have to accept periods of poor form

I agree to an extent Dickos but as an owner or backer I might be worried if I had given a manager a very good budget and after a quarter of the season we were nowhere near where expected.
Bradford City early bird season ticket prices end tomorrow. They are currently 3,000 down on this time last year. That is because the new manager is saying exactly what the old manager said, the squad isn't good enough, plus reports that they aren't willing to pay any player more than £1,500 a week. These fans are obviously not even waiting until October.
An adult ticket for a home game will probably be £25. How many lapsed season ticket holders would pay that every week? Not too many I would guess.
Fans have expectations and if a manager doesn't deliver early doors then they might not want to pay for dissapointment. I went year in year out from 1958 but as ticket and petrol prices go up I find it harder to attend.

Yes, the first 8 games were awful in terms of results and (mostly) performances.

Since then, we’ve had 30 games at a form that would comfortably see you in the top 10 mostvseasons. Sometimes a bit lower. Sometimes a bit higher. And we’ve got (on paper) a relatively easy last 8 games, so we ought to improve on that. And all of that has been achieved whilst we’ve had yet another season with several key players missing great chunks of the season through injury.

A couple of decent signings and a sprinkling of luck with injuries and we’ll be play-off contenders next season.
