Sunderland are obviously going to bring a fair few but surprising how far away it is from Donny. About the same distance to get somewhere like Cambridge, Northampton, or Coventry.
Lets hope Rotherham and Scunny fail in the play offs and we can look forward to some tast derbys
whats happened to the Dingles investors? If they are serious it would make sense for them to invest to keep em in the championship rather than take em down to bring em back up again. They must be fit and proper people as they have received the seal of approval.

It's owners and directors test, isn't it? all they have to do is prove a business plan exists and that it's financially viable, I seem to remember.
I can see the same thing happening to Sheffield United if there is a change of ownership. Once local interest is lost by the owners, more clubs go tits up than flourish, Nottingham Forest, Coventry, Weeds United he he, Sunderland, Aston Villa, Birmingham, just to name a few.
As far as I know, 50% of the value of the ground is owned as a covenant by the council that keeps the area as a sports field. This was brought about when a previous owner, before Cryne had looked into selling the ground and moving.

Off the field the clubs improved ten fold with the marketing etc from the new owners, it's their first summer coming up and they're expecting a lot of big sponsorship deals.

Sorry, did Patrick Cryne actually sign players? Or are you saying that the budget for signings wasn't good enough?

It was Patricks plan years ago. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/so-then.267706/#post-2125389http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/re-spreadsheet-signings.267766/
