As some will say unless it is a statement issued by the Rovers official site it is not to be believed. The Star, DFP and Wiki all just make it up for the sake of news. Funny how often I find these sources are right before the Rovers official site make a statement.

I doubt very much that the interview panel would be wasting their time, and the time of the 3 candidates, if the decision had already been made. Which it quite clearly hasn't.

Wikipedia, whilst much more reliable than it used to be in general, is still easy to make quick edits to like that when it isn't true/confirmed do I wouldn't put any stock in that.

If it is to be McCall I will be very pleased, from the start he seemed the best choice of the realistic candidates.

All’s well that ends well.

Here's hoping the selection process won't be another comedy of errors.

Contempt? Have they not delivered on a promise?

I did say earlier today that there would not be an announcement as all 3 final applicants still had to be interviewed.

Before they can make a statement as to who has the job they have to cross all the T's and dot all the I's
It would be pandemonium on here if it wasn't watertight

The club are very good at doing due diligence once interviews are complete. I wouldn't expect an announcement until late tomorrow or even Wednesday.

But that will never be good enough for certain sections of our support, will it?

If the club doesn’t tell us today’s news yesterday, it’s a disgrace according to some.!

Will McCall be making signings immediately, or will he want to view the squad in depth first?

Do you honestly think a managerial candidate shortlisted for the job at least 10 days ago hasn't been looking in-depth at the squad already?

Not in depth, no! I'm sure Stuart hasn't met all the players personally yet in order to assess their attitude etc.

Would be amazed if questioning at interview has not dug deep on what the putative manager thought of our existing squad and what he thought was needed to strengthen this further.

You'll struggle there  BB!!  I'm not in the country at the moment although Gav has been in regular touch as always.

I think its fair to say that the interviews have not concluded as yet.

That's what worries me. How do the interviewers decide whether the putative manager is talking sense or b*llocks, when, assumedly he knows much more about the game than they themselves do?

Let us all not forget that we have been landed in this situation as the manager quit weeks after the season finished. Not apportioning blame - not least as he had obvious family issues - but nonetheless we are starting the search with the close season well progressed. The Board have not been sat on their thumbs since early May.

So, will it be tomorrow or Wednesday? Surely, they realise they are eating into valuable time that the new manager needs to assess the squad and (hopefully) make the necessary improvements!

Transfer window closes August 9th, NOT the end of August, just in case we've forgotten!
