100% with this. Once he’s appointed he’s one of ours and I’ll be willing him to succeed. And I’ll be looking forward to listening to what he has to say.

Correct CiM. I'll support him as long as he shows he's working hard for Rovers to succeed, which surely is what we all want.

What are the board playing at , surly this t**t could have been announced sooner if they are adamant he’s the man , he has NO track record  to shout about. I want success like anybody else , I hope I’m wrong , but I can’t see him lasting a season . But sincerely hope I’m wrong. WTF***

Let's see how he copes without a war chest like he had at Peterborough.

Calling him a "t**t" before he's even walked in the door? There's just no need for it, the worst kind of attitude to have when it comes to supporting the club, or not supporting as it seems to be.

Christ,  :headbang: .
If  this is true, what are they thinking?
Why have a set of criteria, and employ someone who fits non of them?
Especially when there are at least 3 better managers available and without a job!!

......(Based on Yorkshire post who say he's set to be announced)

Are you Gaz in disguise?

It says, "McCann, 36, – the bookmakers favourite for the position"

So nothing more than going on the bookmakers. Yawn...

Managers who had no track record to speak of before we took them on.

Peter Doherty
Lawrie McMenemy
Billy Bremner
Dave Penney

Managers who had lots of track record before we took them on.
Dave Mackay
Darren Ferguson.

For every successful name you have listed above how many abject failures have we had?

So that means we should take a huge risk on a manager who's only claim to fame is getting the sack at Peterborough?

I don't actually doubt that Gaz has got the right man at this stage to be honest. The tales from the boardroom/ interview room seem like tittle tattle. The announcement time he clearly made up.

I’ll wait and see before I make comment fully. Initial thoughts not overly impresssed  I would have thought McCall would have been a better more experienced choice.  If it is him I wish him success and hope he wasn’t appointed because of wage demands

How many of those failures were with "no track record" though? because thats the point. I don't know by the way

Just pleased we have got a manager (if true) who meets all the criteria set. Ah well good luck all the same.
What WAS the criteria !! Because we are obviously not fussed who we give the job too. We have decent group of players and back room staff . This over rated and underachieving nobody looks like taking the job with the board supposedly having carried out their due diligence . Same old same old .

Just think how much more Real Madrid could have won if they had n't gone for someone with zero managerial experience, they only won three champions league titles with him in charge pffft!

He’s odds have gone out to 1/10 from 1/20. Not as done deal as everyone thinks or a few people lumped on some of the others.

No. It means there’s precious little correlation at this level between managers’ past and future performance.
