Strong bench too, good to see we have plenty of back up.

Would’ve liked McCullough in middle of park to add a bit of cover for the defence. 3 attacking players could leave us open. Especially away from home

Good 11 and strong bench plus missing players in Luke and young Alfie

McCann has said on the radio that he has no injuries and therefore a full squad to choose from.
I thought Luke would have at least been on the bench.

Personally I would have had him in the team instead of Whiteman.

On a side note, I see the new rule in L1 looks like being keep playing until Sunderland score.

Good morning everyone, great weather here in Eastern Canada, hope it's the same in Southend, be a great season opener, would be wonderful day if we can secure a win, we have a team who can do it.

By the way there is actually a new rule in the EFL this season.

Each club must name at least one 'homegrown' player in the 18 man team sheet, or only name 17 players. Oversimplifying 'homegrown' means having played at least a year (I think) in our own age group teams. Lund and Amos and most of our youth players qualify (not Watters and not sure about Blaney).

Also re McCullough, always a chance he was ill on the day

 ROVCON 2

Edit have just seen BST's post on main board, so 1 is high tension, 5 low

Seems like shooting practice for them.

10 shots in 20 minutes is worrying.

We need to get on the ball quick and put a few passes together we sound all over the place at the moment. First game though plenty of time, hopefully we settle down a bit
