Minus Grant that whole teams Dickovs team?Of course it was. That was the first Saturday of the transfer window. The point was that he made some baffling additions to the squad that January and we bombed. [/quote? Think we signed Mattioni, Rowe and Alcock that window. So not all were baffling
His January loan signings were :Lynden GoochEddy LecygneRenewal of loan of Cameron Stewart. Baffling.
Didn't we sign Chris Neal that January too?To be fair to Dickos - Mattioni, Rowe and Alcock were all still Fergie signings. The loan window was a different proposition back then.

The loan window was a different proposition back then.Yes we did. Forgot about him. That was because Stuckmann was injured, not from strategic choice. And yes, Ferguson DID make some excellent signings. But the point is that he f**ked up royally in that January window. His advocates on here are quite rightly pointing out that he inherited a bag of w**k. But the point is that HE didn't seem to appreciate how bad the squad was. In January 2016, he signed a few kids that, I'm guessing, he planned to run the rule over for future investment. So when the squad dived into the second worst run of form that any of us have ever experienced, we had nothing to fall back on until the loan window opened. And by then it was too late. The rot was too deep.It was a very, very big strategic miscalculation and I'm still astonished that he survived that failure. The fact that the club stood by him then puts an interesting angle on the fact that he flounced out a couple of years later. The long-term support thing was, apparently, a one-way thing.
