Has left Sunderland for Bordeaux; that's like us losing Marquis. However, I would imagine they'll try and sign someone before the window closes; if they don't, they might struggle for goals.

They only got like £3m think we'd want more for Marquis. Hopefully they don't manage to strengthen or if they do they stay away from us!

Two quid?, surely he's worth more than that, Baz.

Delighted at that. Have Marquis top scorer at 28/1 so this strengthens the chances of it coming in!

I think we would only get offered about £2m for him and probably sell him at that. Would love to get more but can't see it.

Why would we sell? we've no need to. We're still in the playoff hunt, and January is a seller's market anyway.

I'm not saying we want to sell, just if we was offered 2 million , of which I think is tops, then we would.

Doesn't mean I'm right just my thoughts

We don’t want to sell him, he hasn’t asked for a move either so no we won’t sell for £2m as he’s worth more to us.

sunderland have made 4 bids for will grigg of wigan so the 5th or 6th should get him they are an amazing 11/2 top priced for the championship

they have this habit of not losing scored in every game so far

Aye except the price is £4m , the club put that price on his head over the weekend .

They aren't going to pay that for Moore and neither is anyone else because he ain't worth that kind of dosh .

Aye, but as you well know, it doesn't work like that these days.

If Moore has his head turned, and decides he wants to go, it's 80% done that he'll go, regardless of Barnsley putting an over-inflated price on him.

Maybe but he won't be going to Sunderland Billy , absolutely no way are we going to sell him to a club we are in direct competition for in the promotion shake up .

I take the point Moncur was allowed to leave for Luton but he couldn't get a start with us and he's not going to affect things too much in my opinion .

Everyone has a price but it would have to be from a championship club for Moore to be allowed to leave and I don't see too many wanting to take a punt on him in all honesty .

He ain't that great a footballer , good goalscorer at league one level but that's about it , his all round game is pretty poor at times .

Not even the best striker at Barnsley , Cauley Woodrow is twice the player Moore is .

Woodrow is a bloody good player. Agree there.

Talking to my old Mackem mates this afternoon, all hoping we get a Manx team. They said they're going for Grigg with one last offer, then they've heard that if they fail, we could be losing Marquis to them in a last minute deal. I said no chance, he's not going. They said they offered 50k a week for Maja so wages won't be problem to them. Could we/would we turn down 2 Million bid for our Johnny Boy.

I think two things get in the way of that scenario.

Firstly, we don't need to sell, so two million isn't going to cut it.

Secondly, Marquis knows what a bad move feels like and it affected his career, his confidence and maybe even his mental health in quite a major way. We play to his style, we create a Marquis-size hole in our line up, would Sunderland?

We are always going to be a selling club - that sort of money would keep the club afloat for a while...  The reality is if an offer came in, the board would have to consider it

“Roll onto Mondays draw & some big league games coming up ⚽️ #DRFC”

A quote from a Marquis post on twitter from Saturday. To me that says he’s happy to stay. A lot can happen between Saturday and the transfer window shutting (Thursday) but as of Saturday night he is happy here..

Hope it doesn’t happen but if Sunderland offered £2m for JM and offered him, say, ten grand a week, I reckon that would be enough to make the transfer come about.

John would be crazy not to go.

If Sunderland offered Maja £50k a week, then I don't have any worries about Marquis leaving. They've obviously got no-one on the Board who knows anything about the true value of footballers.

Well that could actually make things worse for us then.
They might offer John twenty grand a week.

Why would JM go to a club that may still be in div 1 next season?

And £2M wouldn't cut it, for me.

Why wouldn’t he go?
Twenty grand a week is a good enough incentive.

I could ask why would he stay with us.
We might also still be in L1 next season and he wouldn’t be on such a high wage.

He is good enough for Championship football and if we don't go up this season, then he has the option in the summer. He'll still have far bigger wages on the table!

Further to the above, the Board have gone on record to say they wouldn't sell at the last minute and put us at risk of getting no replacement!

He could pick up an injury which means things changed for him.

Trouble is, it doesn't have to cut it with you.....
