Thats good for the Fans I hope - goodness knows we suffered enough (as have other Clubs of course) in not exactly parallel circumstances

Great news for Blackpool, harsh to get a 12 point deduction due to the circumstances but at last they get their club back

It’s up to the EFL to decide if they impose the points deduction..

That's true but they don't normally deviate from the rules when it comes to that..Whatever the circumstances..

You mean it's based on 'opinion' and no rules apply, IDM?

Perhaps SM will enlighten us, as I, for one, havn't a clue what the rules are on such a thing, if even any exist.

I don’t know exactly what the EFL regulations are in respect of receivership but it is usual to get points deducted for administration.

That’s what I meant, not what my opinion is, just not sure what the EFL will do..

No, I didn't mean your opinion, I meant based on the EFL's opinion and not the application of the rules.

Sorry for the confusion.

I don’t know Alan, it’s not necessarily a done deal.?

However I wouldn’t be surprised if there is to be a points deduction..

Even more however, I would like to think we can stay above Blackpool regardless of any points penalty.

I agree, but we still have to go to Blackpool and our form there over the years has not been great.

However, last night's performance had something about it that surpasses any previous historical games in our recent history.

Have a look at the Blackpool Gazette online, I can’t link from my phone.. the implication is that EFL sanctions are discretionary..

Hopefully,This will be great for the fans,if not short term, but in the long run.I think Oyston was stupid not to listen to the fans, especially when the stay away protest was taken seriously by the majority of their fans.Only himself to blame. From what I have seen and read about him,he seems not a nice man.Better not go into details,as one fan already got punished for.And as someone has already said, hope theirs a massive increase in fans at their at next home game and If I was them,I'd do a carnival atmosphere.

This from the Blackpool Gazette:

Quote
The hearing was told the appointment of the receiver could result in Blackpool FC being docked 12 points by the English Football League. It remains to be seen if this will happen.

Problems will remain at that club for years to come. The fan base is very divided between those that have stayed away and those that continued to attend home games. Already there is talk on one of their forums of “scab bashing” when they return. Very sad.

Some even suggesting the “mushrooms” as they call them are socially excluded and encouraged to stay away in future from BR. There is some very deep seated emotions swirling around that club.
Not a good place to be.

This could be what they need though to reunite and rejuvenate. Hopefully the end of difficult times and in the not too distant future, forgive and forget between the fans!

As far as we're concerned, they may still be a threat to us in the league until someone tells us different!

Perhaps SM will enlighten us, as I, for one, havn't a clue what the rules are on such a thing, if even any exist.

One of my friends, several FSF colleagues, and some Blackpool Supporters Trust people, have been in court today listening to the proceedings take place. From what I've seen so far the article in the Gazette sums up what was said and how things developed.

The EFL action is discretionary. It was originally put in place to stop clubs going into administration and using the pre-pack method of starting up again almost immediately with no harm being done.

This issue has been on the agenda of numerous meetings between supporters and the EFL for the last few seasons, and there has been a lot of sympathy for the Blackpool fans from all sides. I would expect the EFL to be very lenient. Its a problem solved for them as much as anybody else.

Because they're breathing down our necks at the moment.
