The majority of the team without loans were at the club before McCann arrived , how many of the players would he keep knowing that nearly all are out of contract.
McCann is in a strong position to mauld a team of his own making . With the club committed to a second string to help develop new tallent, it’s likely that the days of paying out bigger salaries for loyalty are over . McCann is demonstrating that he can take good young hunger players ie Kane Wilks etc players who haven’t even played in a first team and give them belief. If we went up I do think we will be stuck with L1 types and a struggle to establish any continuity and risk relegation. However if stay put , yes the loans we may not return but a new influx of hunger young players would sign for us allowing McCann to build for the long term and go up with a stronger squad build to a vision of wanting to grow and achieve. We do have quality in the team
Whiteman Lowler Marosi Anderson Wright and Mason ... even Marquis. But speculate now and off load for cash , those assists may just help build and attract better quality . We are going to loose our best players at the end of the season because they are not ours to sell , but a good offer on say Wilks he may just say yes and then you can build around his style and aproach . He is worth the season ticket money on his own .

If a player does not sign a contract at this stage of the season it's only
to be expected if they are ambitious and want to play in a higher league,
if we go up they wont be able to find a pen quick enough, if we don't then
it's up to them to sign or not unless they are offered a deal for whichever
league we end up in most player would hold off from signing it's only
common sense,it doesn't mean they want to leave or not happy just keeping
their options open.
