Didn't JR build the wall in the East stand in first place so we could take more money off Leeds fans (away team) on a regular basis? Wasn't concerned about giving the away advantage then was he.

800 extra fans won't impact a 180 minute 2 legged tie and if you think that then I despair
You would be surprised how much it will help Charlton.
marginal gains,
It is naive from the club, and it's a result of having business men and not football people on the board
(there are plus points and negatives to both, and I think on the whole the board are doing an OK job)

DBR, Don’t forget though that all the extra benefits that we get will also be paid to the other clubs in the division.
Any financial gain we get will not improve our situation at all against the other clubs.

The only thing that might help is Club Doncaster revenue.

Yes. As I said, we'll be financially fitter than many other clubs who are already committed to higher costs including players on 'silly' contracts, bigger squads, etc, etc. We don't have the same baggage.

Don't get me wrong, it will be tough but if we have faith in McCann, he will acquire more bang for our buck and improve the quality of the squad.
Not forgetting of course that incoming players will want higher wages and transfer fees (what are they!) will be higher so even though income increases costs will too

As of 9-20 am this morning there is by my reckoning less than 2000 (1996) seats left on sale for the game.
With so few left I would be buying at the ticket office or on line rather than thinking I could get them from the ticket office on the walk up on Sunday as usual if it was my normal way of purchase.
By the way Boomstick, the total outnumbering of away fans in the European games this season apart from at Liverpool, and the arrogance of the Barcelona team, made very little difference to to results.
In three of the games Spurs,Arsenal, and at Chelsea, the away fans were totally outnumbered, but on the field their team were the better side, and noise made no difference whatsoever,Chelsea were lucky.

Ignoring the fact that John Ryan was the one who sanctioned the "Leeds wall" being built in the first place to get a dig in at the board are we?

Been to the Box Office this morning and walked straight up to the desk. No queue.

Good news for those who are worried about having to queue for tickets they've ordered online.

Bad news for those who are worried about us not selling all of our tickets.

It’s a working day, perhaps folks are buying online or on the phone..

Sill, I think we have the capacity to accommodate everyone who wants to go..

With the amount of segregation and also the front few rows at both ends taken out i would estimate around the 14.000 mark.

Sounds about right.. with the south stand spare seats for unreserved seating, the video screen, and segregation I reckon we must lose about 1200 from the original capacity..

Last seasons final between Rotherham and Shrewsbury only 26.000
That is very poor indeed.
How many do you think we would take this time? ( If )   :clapping:
I do think we would get an awful lot come out of the woodwork again. A bit less than last time but still around 20.000.

Well there you are this answers the question. So Charlton will have over 4000 fans there and we will have 9500 at most.

Have the club shot themselves in the foot with this?

Yes it's definitely money in the bank but we know how much noise that many fans can make in the away end.

For such an important game some clever tactics are needed and I think that this is where our club comes up short and shows its nievity at times.

We need every bit of advantage we can get. Look at Sunderland who have only given Portsmouth 2000.thats less than for a league game.

Even if we didn't sell out, so what... Its our ground and up to us to manage the support behined the team.

To be honest, abit more patience and I think we would have sold out the ground meaning it would have been over 10k fans to support rovers and more support to the team.

It's time like this when I wonder when are we going to learn, its also times like this when having JR there I'm sure he would have said not to do it

Look at it on the flip side.

With nearly 4k away fans there's a greater chance that there'll be a few cockroaches amongst them who'll shout abuse/slag off their own players (every club has 'fans' like that). If they've got a few sensitive players, it might affect their performance.

The fans won't get at their own players...it's a sort of unspoken rule this season out of respect for Bowyer and what he's trying to achieve.....plus every player will give their all for the team.  If we go one down there will be no negative reaction, you'll find us very disciplined and patient.

Had a look about 11:30 1797 tickets left just had another look 1673 so there is still a steady stream,Anyone know if the box office is open tomorrow,There's probably people still out there who don't do online or over the phone purchases so Saturday could be a good selling day?

Didn't know that! How many did Rotherham take?

We officially took 26000 last time, although you could knock off around 500 as they were Leeds that were huddled behind the goals

Hound, I don't think it will shut them up, they will just move on to another criticism, probably the ques at half time, or how poor the food on offer was, and the price.

Don't forget the 18 in W31.

South Stand now all gone (feckin site! Now showing 34 left)
East nearly done bar the Family Stands which are selling really poorly.
Loads left in the West.

24k including the Leeds fans, google the pictures to see they had around 1500/2k in the top tier. JR offered Leeds 12k out of the 36k.

Makes a change for someone to shoot the club down and ask questions later? Not!

Read the EFL play off rules then think again!

I can honestly not be bothered to read the pile of tripe the clueless ideots at the efl spout (I have no respect for them as a governing body you may have guessed)

Does it genuinely say we have to give up   over a 1/4 not far off 1/3 of our stadium to away fans in the playoffs? I think someone needs to have a word with Sunderland then.....

The clueless idiots at the EFL?

Let me just point out that they're not a governing body.
