Can’t fault the effort tonight. Excellent performance and on another night we’d have had a couple of pens and progressed to Wembley.

Tactically McCann got his team, formation and subs correct. Proud of them all and I feel for John, he isn’t the best at pens but still gave it a go. Gives a good platform for next season depending who we can keep hold of and get on loan.

If we had to loosen  than imo , better to do it  in the playoffs . Too many teams have loosing final hangovers and the following season is never a good one . McCann can  get sorted now for 18/20 onwards and upwards .

Thought we were the better side over the two ties against a very strong Charlton team. Gutting to lose on penalties but it is what it is.

Plenty to build on for next season.

Wow just Wow.  A proper semi final.
It doesn't feel like a regular win, more a relief.  Our club needed this to stop the hate.
Play with that spirit and belief next season...I'll enjoy the ride with you.
Butler was outstanding...done a job on Taylor and co.
It's the worse I've seen us play this year, but then again you royally screwed with LB's plans.
You have a good manager...never stop singing.

ps. Thanks for accepting a rather strange Charlton fan.

As a reflection on the season, did I expect the plays off - No .Did I expect to miss out on Wembley on penalties - No. I am extremely proud off my club. Roll on next season.

Every one of those players should sleep easily tonight.

That was superb. Penalties...f**k it. Can go either way. But we were magnificent tonight. I've never been prouder to be a Rovers fan.

Bring next season on.

By far the better team tonight. Shades of Gazza when JM was a stud's length from getting the winner towards the end of normal time.

John was inconsolable at the end. I hope he's not off anywhere.  I really do.

Rovers did us proud tonight. Lee Bowyer I hope acknowledges that because his lads were second best tonight.

But, Sky and the so called experts get to claim victory of course....

Thought the referee had an excellent game, part from missing two very strong penalty shouts.

I feel sick to my stomach but immensely proud.

Have to agree. We were magnificent tonight and deserved to win. My little boy is in tears and so am I. We were the better team today and I don't blame anyone for our defeat. I love this club and I always will. I can't wait for next season RTID.  :rtid:  :rtid: :rtid: :rtid: :rtid:

Tonight’s game was as good as anything I have experienced over many, many years. As good as David Harle, as good as Tierney’s goal, as good as Copps’ hatrick, as good as Hayter’s head, as good as the Mansfield moment.
Maybe it’s my age, but I’m off to bed thinking we have won tonight, not that we have lost.
I never thought that a song could be better than ‘Walking in O’driscoll Wonderland’, but there is: “We’ve got McCann. Super Grant McCann...RTID xxxxx

Completely proud of the lads tonight and for the whole season, it's been great. On another night the ref gives us 2 penalties, Marosi doesn't slip, Marquis toe connects at the end, or Tommy busts the back of the net...that's football, and we couldn't have asked for more. Well done Rovers. Really excited for next season, can't wait!

I hope he goes nowhere. Runs his blood to water and scores plenty with it. Billy Sharp is my favourite ever Rover but JM is pushing him close. I also hope he’s done with penalties- he’s useless at them.

PS hope Rowe gets a new contract and we push on. Play half as good as that tonight (maybe defend a bit better) and we’ll easily be top two next year.

I don’t subscribe to sky on principle that they give the prem too much money and have destroyed the lower leagues. I bought a day pass tonight as work kept me away from the valley and now I know why I’ll never subscribe - all they talked about was a Charlton v  Sunderland final as the last one was a classic  and two ex prem teams in the final to sell subscriptions. They had an ex charlton player commenting and assumed it would be an easy win for them. Thankfully we proved them wrong. We were magnificent and should have won but I’m so proud of the team and the great effort - gutted but so proud! This is why I love my team and feel sorry for the armchair fans who watch such banal, biased sh*te instead of going to games and experiencing the atmosphere and camaraderie of being a proper fan! F*ck sky and come on rovers! I love you! RTID!!
