Course, if he does what the one before THAT did, and take us to our highest league finish in 3 decades, that will be ok. As long as the football is a bit more watchable.

Delighted with this. His playing days here were before my time watching DRFC but it’s clear how revered he is here even though he only played for us for two seasons.

More importantly, he seems like a very high calibre and well-respected coach/manager, and somebody that leads by example.

Really looking forward to this season and seeing how he does.

Physically imposing, very quick, unflappable. If he's a good a manager as he was a player ...

I'm happy the board have taken their time to pick the right man in their opinion, I'm especially happy this matches what us fans (mostly) wanted. Hopefully we keep this feel for factor going with some moore signings (see what I did there)

Not sure what thread to post on but I've been driving and just seen he's got the job.

Amazing. So happy just can't wait for the season to start.

Whatever happens we've got to stick with it. Lose the first five matches. Whatever. Stick with it. Get behind them and they will come good this season I know it. Hoping for top half with a bonus of a run at the playoffs or at least a good try. That will be success in my eyes.

Before my time as a player as well, but I always admired him as he was one of the few former Rovers players who went on to have a successful PL career at the time. Rufus Brevett being the other. I remember being convinced Andy Watson would be the 3rd. Funny old game!

Probably more to do with the board bleeting on about it in the interviews, and the importance they put on it.
