Joe Wright off does this effect the first league game ?Can’t score again need players in to replace Blair, Gomez, Sadlier and even Copps. If we are going to score goals this season. Reading about the gap between John and the attacking midfield how’s he expected to score. Not panicking it will happen. Same result on Saturday unless some quality is signed.

Quote from: drfchound on July 24, 2019, 10:21:21 pmWhat was our starting line up please.Rovers: Lawlor, Halliday, Wright, Anderson, James, Sheaf, Blair, Gomes, Sadlier, Coppinger (Longbottom 65), Marquis. Subs not used: Jones, Crawford, May, Watters, Kiwomya, Hasani.
The first 15 mins we looked the business , we played sharpe one touch and players were finding their passes and it had a good tempo . Slowly Huddersfield got into the game and began to control it with a more determined front line and midfield. Once they went in front we never got back into stride and in the second half a smart free kick meant 0-2 and not long after 10 men with Joe getting carried away . Rovers didn’t offer much up front and seemed half hearted when going down to 10 men . DM will have a few words of wisdom no doubt but it’s about attitude on the pitch and this above everything will see the team perform better when something is at stake .

Genuine question - Do you ever have a good word to say about any player or are you one of those fans that always has to find fault?Have you even got a clue about what you are talking about? The one player that was actually awful tonight and you have not even mentioned him and that was Marquis whilst several of the players you mention were in fact our better players tonight, Gomez was given man of the match although I do agree that is stretch. This was the first real test of pre season and the players chance to stretch themselves but you want to write players off already lol, what a clown!

Do I take it from a lot of these threads that unless we get players in we’re probably in the Pooh for next season

The problem for me was he was massively isolated, our midfield was so deep it was frightening, sadlier and copps were always 10-15 yards deeper than him, which lead to hardly any interplay in the final 3rd. The two flicks to play people through in the first half from marquis were quality as was the cross but there was nobody on the end of it.I’m a fan of sadlier but felt he was very poor tonight, constantly gave the ball away. Also Blair can’t be playing as a holding midfielder may aswell put him in goal
