Player who has been involved in high transfer fees but not really done anything much.

Could be a shrewd signing if we can get him in some form.

Only 24 and 6ft 3 looks like villa have outgrown him if we can get him maybe for free or cheap with a sell on fee then could be a good bit of business

Much more interesting. Decent experience and an age where his best days should still be ahead of him.

Some great prospects if we can get them signed up and in the squad for Saturday.

Exactly, cannot see why we would need another midfielder tbh, looking at his stats he's not a goal scoring midfielder either. The only reason this might have legs is if we were proactively looking at replacements should we accept an offer for Whiteman and he moves on. Hope Im wrong, rate him very highly and he would be a massive loss, quality player. Then again if the right bid comes in and the lad wants away then we might not have a choice.

If he was signed for 5m then his wages will be material. Don’t know whether he is out of contract or not but if he is still in contract and even if Villa are happy to let him go for free, the lad might have 12/24 months left on a deal at say 10k a month that he will want covering. Little bit easier if he is out of contract but even then, please consider the wages. He was signed for decent money so he will not be on a pittance.

I agree, he'll be costing a pretty penny in wages......

Either Tshibola will or won't accept what Darren has to offer so we can only wait and see. But he would be a significant coup if we can get him.

He looks like a good player, but he's very much a sitting midfielder like Sheaf and Whiteman. Going to be a weird set-up.

He's on a big wedge at Villa that's why they want rid. Can't see it with us already having Sheaf and Whiteman in that position.

If villa cover a percentage of his wage that he expects then could be a goer

He would be a very good singing but it's not a position we need really.     Always got to be open to improving the team when players like this come along though.

Wages could be a issue.

If Pompey are after Marquis that should help push his transfer fee up.

I think it’s naive to suggest we don’t need another midfielder. Not sure this lad is a traditional holding player in the way that Sheaf is or Whiteman has become, I think he would add to the squad if we could get him. Whiteman, Sheaf and Tshibola would certainly give us great stature and presence through the middle.

Good midfield players can pkay anywhere. Whiteman an can move further forward if needed.

That might be Moore's intention?

He is a "Free" not a "Loan", therefore its all about wages that DRFC can afford.

That’s not Whitemans forte though and plays best infront if the back four. He’s our asset and we should be developing/prioritising his needs overs Sheafs.

If they want rid and we are the only team interested they may have to offer us something they would rather pay 5k a week than 10k dunno what he's on but an example

It’s all about cover for injuries too, especially in midfield. Remember how we would dread an injury to Stock, Wellens, Kane, Whiteman, Warboys, Snodin...it’s your ‘engine room’, you need good ‘spare parts’!

Not sure Warboys ever played midfield like 😛
