It's being reported that the new owners of Bolton have just taken out 2x £20m loans repayable at 4% interest PA. Due to be repaid in 2022 and secured against the club's assets.

Sounds like madness to me.

I thought that the new owners had proof of funds already in place?

You'd have thought so. Perhaps the new owners don't want to risk their own assets and want all the liability placed on the club itself?

About time it was illegal to take loan's out against football clubs (or any community asset) so obviously a huge and dangerous risk when clubs struggle not to lose money every year.

This is why they needed the hotel as an asset to finance the football side of the business.

It makes you wonder about the sanity of the organisation that has agreed to lend them that ridiculous amount which they are highly unlikely to ever see coming back.

That's venture capitalism for you! Had the hotel been sold independently, Football Ventures were screwed. The proof of funds will have been the evidence of the loans secured against the hotel.

Radio Sheffield saying they will have a further update on this on Praise or Grumble tonight. Appears EFL have said they now intend to deal with this ASAP.

According to Adam Oxley radio Sheffield that a decision by the EFL due in days

I understand that a decision from the @EFL about the #bwfc v #drfc fixture is expected soon; days rather than weeks. Nothing more specific at this stage, both in terms of timescale and potential outcome.

Bolton play the same players that were in the squad on Saturday, tonight. This makes the decision by Bolton for our game wrong

Well I hope they make the RIGHT decision. If they don’t we, (the Club & supporters) need to make some serious noise. We must not lie down on this one.

Not doing themselves any favours by naming the youngest side in their history, when they have a full team of seasoned Pros on their books.

you'd think any decent lawyer could draft a document making our case. Cite the laws of the game and evidence that the exact situation did not lead to a postponement only weeks later and there's not much anyone can comeback with as an argument.

Be interesting to see how many of the players from Saturday play tonight etc, although it is a cup game, but should that matter?

They have to play 7 from the previous game but they could have named 4 new signings in the team plus rest on the bench.

Unless they aren’t bothered about this cup and are concentrating on the league

7 outfield who started, and 2 more outfield who came on as subs.
That's 9 starting tonight who played some part on Saturday .
They have swapped Keepers as well.

Well, let's see what the EFL's decision is before making waves. I notice it's an early kick off, is this so the Bolton Young uns won't be kept up too late?

Bolton would never dream of playing any of their youngsters who played only 3 days ago. Think of the permanent damage that would cause to those poor children. No, we know looking after their players health has always been their top priority.

Another week slips by without this being put to bed.

Surely they need to announce something this week before the next round of matches!?

Perhaps Bolton might look to cancel their next game now that one of the new signings has been involved in a car crash

I hope they're sorting some warmer shirts for their lads for the coming winter. The EFL really should be allowing Bolton players to wear hats, nice thermal waterproof ones from M&S, it's unfair not to.

Are the EFL hoping this is just going to get forgotten about and they are brushing it under the carpet.
We have not heard a word from them.
No b*llocks to make the only sane and credible decision by the looks of it.
Well that’s a surprise isn’t it. Thought the FA were inept, this lot are no better by the looks of it.
Come on you lot, prove me wrong. Do it now, not in 2 flippen months.

Could try but they'd only prorogue the League.

This needs sorting very quickly, because if we're not getting the points, and I doubt that we will, then we need the fixture to be rescheduled as soon as possible, because one thing's for certain, it will be a very different Bolton team after January.
