By the way I’m pleased that the tweet is still there with the retweet’s

If it was the official account rather than a spoof, it was probably put up by a duty officer (who has access to it - someone in communications perhaps) who feels as angry at this situation as anyone else.

Sadly I fear that this person will lose their job over this - misusing the official Twitter account.

However the message is out there and can’t be unseen.!

He's got so used to lying to the public - and, crucially,

to being cheered for it by the very people he's lied to

 - that he figured it was worth a punt.

The Tories seem to think this is a Westminster bubble story and they will ride it out.

I think that is a collosal misjudgement.

I've had messages today from people at work who never talk about politics and they are furious about it.

This is so dangerous for the Govt because it crystallises what people instinctively know about Johnson. Of COURSE he's not on the side of the ordinary people. He's done a brilliant job of convincing millions that he was, but this is the real Johnson exposed. When he has to decide which side he is on, he flicks the rods to the ordinary people who have done exactly the right thing for week after week. And he backs this t**t of a man who thinks he is too special to have to toe the line like the rest of us.

This WILL define Johnson's Govt.

I don't see how they can recover from this anytime soon. This is huge, I was actually in shock watching BJ's press conference.

I hated Thatcher with a passion, but this idiot makes That her look like a saint. And I know my opinion are slightly bias but right now I am raging, and probably so is the majority of the Country

I too hated Maggie Thatcher’s politics but there is no way she would have allowed this kind of behaviour from her senior aide.

She, for one thing, was actually a vertebrate.!

Johnson can't sack Cummings because he is just a glove puppet.

Remember Sooty...Harry H Corbett ran the show with his hand up Sooty from behind.
That is Johnson and Cummings, with Ku Klux Kuensberg taking the left hand as foil to Sooty.

Cummings has to decide to go himself, for strategic reasons, then tell Jonno to front it up.
DC needs to think he is in a stronger position by stepping down and re-locating himself in the BoJo front.

So the question really is if there is more to come, and if the 1922 Committee get the wind up, what internal pressures in the rank and file need to be purged..

Well 68 per cent of those in a Poll thus morning said Cummings should go

After Liar Johnson finished his 2 sentences defending Cummings I bet that went to 75 per cent

What a bumbling lying incoherent nothing of a speech

Tories should get him checked out medically as I reckon (as much as I hate the liar) that any average Joe off this Forum could have performed better imo

Please can someone tell me why it is ok for Cummings to visit Downing Street, when the current instruction is still to work at home if you can.?

He can't squeeze Boris' balls whilst whispering in his ear telling him what to do and say from home.

Despite my own feelings about this fiasco just tell me, if they have the balls to brazen this out what the consequences will be? It's not likely that there are going to be mass demonstrations on the streets of London by the great unwashed, sorry I meant the caring public, to show their diseasure. It will blow over until the next Boris up

I stick to my opinion stated earlier that he has to go, no question, I have to wonder though where all this outrage displayed today on here was when Stephen Kinnock went to visit his dad? Yes I know hes not in government but consistency ppl!!

Early days I know, and perhaps, apart from BST who has been correct in his analysis of the seriousness of the situation  at the time, we may have dismissed it

After all that has been publicised over the last 24 hours or so, that's your only comment of it all?

If Stephen Kinnock has broken the rules then he should face the same sanctions as anyone else.

Difference with Cummings is that the latter is part of the government organisation which is setting the rules.  It is more embarrassing for a rule maker to break the rules.

Agreed IDM, both instance are deplorable. I just find it incredibly hypocritical for one to be a pariah on here and one not (along party lines mostly) it makes a mockery of the sincerity of some posters
