Even though he was a Liverpool supporter,Steve Gaughan used to go to a good few home and away games with us. Including York away on a Sunday, when we both had to climb up the floodlights to watch the game. Pre Heysel and your feet didnt touch the floor in tha away end, just got swept along the retracing with a surge. Police were pointing at us,telling us to get down, which was pointless as we couldn't and there was no way they were going in that away end to get us down!Mark Atkins never supported us,if anything he was more interested in cricket.

I did play football and cricket with him tho,he knew I was a big Rovers supporter, but he never expressed any interest. He was starting to get interest from Scunny at that time, and always seemed to be injured. On one occasion he came to a match to say,he couldn't play and then gave his reason as being shin splints. It was the first time I had ever heard of it,even the coach said"Youve got f@@king what?".
What about that bloke from Donny who played for Arsenal and got caught fiddling where he shouldn't have been fiddling? Can't remember his name right now. Was he ever a Rovers supporter? And what about Martin Harris? He was a winger at Danum same year as me. Rosso lad. Played for Grimsby Town and then Workington Town - whom we beat 6-3 one season while he was there BobG
