There’s certain players in the Championship like Taylor at Charlton and Ayala at Middlesbrough refusing to play in their respective clubs fixtures until the end of June when there contracts run out. If you refused to work in the “normal “ way of life you break your contract and get sacked, I know this is what certain players want to do but there must be a way taking the players to court. I seem to remember a Premiership player saying if they make me play “I’ll score an own goal and not try” .
I agree totally with people leaving their jobs to better themselves but if you put your notice in to leave you have to work until the employer says not to ie gardening leave, but if you refuse to work don’t expect to get paid or any other bonuses
I started this thread about issues that in the news at the minute not something that happened a year ago, but if you want to hijack it and drag something up again from a year feel free .
McCann preached loyalty about his players then turned around and left us less than a month later for the first job that came his way. He proved himself a hypocrite and treated us with contempt. Pretty much nobody from the club had a good word to say about him when he went. For all that and more, he will be disliked by the majority of Rovers fans for a long time I imagine.
