It's got to be the place where everyone wears a top hat and speaks with a plum-in-the-mouth RP accent.

I'm talking about Scawsby of course.

However, if any of you wish to visit, you'll have to check with me first. There's a small surcharge to pay to keep the riff-raff out.
I managed it, Rotherwood Close but I think I must have had your tacit approval though

Being serious for a moment now, I was told that Bentley road's 19th-century housing is still in use because the foundations are the best in Doncaster.

It's got to be DN8 , god's green acre.  If nothing else  you can leave in 4 different directions

Have you counted the new road to Stainy LOL ?

And you both left! Why?

On to better things

Stainy? Seriously?

Yes as I say, on to better things

No dog in this fight but unless Stainy has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years since I visited then here’s another vote for Balby > Stainforth

Just one question, how many murders have been committed in Balby over the last 2 or 3 years?

If the railway tracks go straight past it means there's nowt worth stopping for. Some villages have ideas above their station, others haven't even got a station.

In days gone by places were named by what industry that was in the area Shiefs of corn were stooked in the fields hence Sheiffield, when the corn was threshed they stored it in big barns in the lee of the Pennine hills hence Barnsley.
With the population of these places getting larger, they had to take their human waste down to the river and cast it into the tidal river hence the name Dungcaster of course over time some of the names changed slightly.

Is that why all the Prozzies who worked in Barnsley lived in Penistone?

How on earth and when did Dungcaster get changed to Rotherham?

Has anyone ever admitted to living in Highfields? Is Jacob Rees Mogg a Councillor there? Does any one in Highfields actually know that the rest of the Country has moved on a 100 years
I was born in Highfields as I have mentioned before on here and left at 21 to marry

Yep I lived there for a few years mid 60's up the posh end Coppice Road. Out the back garden gate straight into  the woods or just across the road onto the playing field

Part of my Co-op milk round 1974/75 was Highfields. Not the best area but some nice people.

It wasn't you who used to block North Bridge up with traffic while you did one mile an hour trying to coax your bloody milk float with a flat battery back to the depot, was it?

I was only there about 18 months between jobs at  Rockware and the Prudential. I started very early and finished about 11:30. It used to be a rush to be among the first on the loading dock. One day I was in such a rush that I drive off still connected to the charging point. On a bad day you did start to lose charge as you went back. Some happy memories though.

I was going to do some Milk puns but my enthusiasm just evaporated. So I just did this one and condensed it as much as possible

Same one every day unless it was faulty.
