we need someone with leadership qualities ...a no nonsense guy like Wellens would be the right man at this juncture when everything on the playing side is broken .Everything !
We don’t need an orator who can impress by charms and displays of passion at an interview .Andy Butler knew what script to read from too but jeez he has proven to be no leader  of men in battle .Football is beautiful but not when it turns out to look like it does in this club right now .

When Wellens left Swindon they were 20th (after 12 games of which they won 3). Did he not shout loud enough?

The more i read and watch interviews of Stephen Robinson the more i believe hes our man. Rebuilt a squad at Motherwell and was very successful in what he did there. The owners loved him amd so did the fans. I think he suits us and what we are looking for down to the ground.

The football isn't pretty though.

I’d be happy with Robinson having read into his Motherwell record.

Is there a source for this or have you personally watched them? I have looked at clips on youtube but cant really tell from highlights.

Feel free to ask the Motherwell forum.

Definitely more of a battling team than stunning football. But it was effective.

I think I might be ready for that style again, I was bored shitless at times with Moore.

He signed Curtis Main...

That aside, and concerns over style of play notwithstanding, he’s a credible candidate. Not before Wellens though, in my opinion.

Has anyone mentioned Sol Campbell as a possibility? Hasn’t done too badly in management so far.

Robertson for me if his name is in the hat. Wellens would be another Butleresque appointment. He needs to earn some stripes first before moving up to league 1 in my opinion. His time will come but needs to not be Mr big b*llocks.

What Robertson did at motherwell is what we need and would be a very good appointment

Just read on their forum that he worked on one of the lowest budgets in the league which amazes me as I thought Motherwell would be up there behind Celtic and Rangers. If he can put forward a team that has heart and fights for each other then for me he gets it. I cant say I have been blown away with any teams style of play this season and it cant be worse than the 12/13 style of play and we all know what happened there. We were once spoilt by SOD and I think we have all expected that football since but after the last 2yrs i just wanna see some bo!!ocks about us.

Isn't promotion from League Two and winning the EFL Trophy "earning stripes".

He hasn't won the premiership or the champions league though. :headbang:

The more I read about Robinson the more I like him. Add the third man into the mix and the board have a tough decision on their hands.

If he had stayed at Swindon and kept them up, maybe.

Tbh I just think he will cause more problems than solve.

He's an abrasive character which I think internally will work against us. Externally would make a change but a one season wonder at Swindon dies not mean he's earnt his stripes for me.

Neither men fill me with huge amounts of enthusiasm but Robinson edges it for me based on what ge achieved at motherwell and how highly the fans speak of him there

Don’t think you will find too many decent managers that aren’t abrasive characters. It’s a big requirement for the job.

You can’t go off what the Motherwell fans say about him but disregard what the Swindon fans say about wellens

I think you are being a little unfair on Butler. You can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink about sums up Butler and the players.

Actually, you can. But it takes two people and the horse must be male.
