Question for Silent Majority (if you can answer).

Did any women apply for the job ?

I can ask. It's not a question that's cropped up before.

Were the final first round interviews completed today?

Still ongoing.

Still ongoing as in into this evening or into another day? Are we still hoping to hold the second stage on Wednesday with a view to appointing this week?

Got to be Parky surely. If you just want promotion but aren’t bothered about how it’s done, then he’s your man. Get your neck brace ready though and make sure you have lots of young players to rely on if things turn bad!!

Morning everyone,

Yesterdays interviews went really well, and the club have now identified 3 great candidates for the role. These will be interviewed on Thursday with a view to appoint asap after that. The plan is to appoint on Thursday if possible, but this may spill over into Friday.

My understanding is that one of those is more 'left field' than the other two, and that it will take some serious consideration as to determine which one will be the ideal candidate.

All applicants have also done an assessment of the existing playing squad, so once in post they would be making decisions on what the shape of the recruitment process looks like in very quick time.

Fingers crossed it all works out the way we would all like!

I always feel a bit sorry for the guys who go the distance through the process, do all the background work on the club and the squad, and are then unsuccessful.

I know it's just the way the cookie crumbles, but they have my sympathy.

I hope it's not Nicky Butt. It's bad enough losing managers once they've proven themselves with us, but Nicky Butt would definitely be head hunted once results go well for him.

I would be fine with us potentially appointing Leftfield.

Considerable boost to the half-time entertainment.

Are the lads still training or are they done? Just wondering when the new manager would meet the squad?

Brian Barry-Murphy just creeped into the bookies odds, I know nothing about his style of play at Rochdale.

Not saying he isn't a candidate - although he signed up for a new contract until June 2022 in March this year.

As far as I'm aware he plays open, attractive football. The issue is you could score 3 in a game but fear you could concede 4. I might be wrong, not seen/read that much about them

Apologies Martin i always though left field meant strange, and Holloway is certainly strange.

My mistake.

I see we interviewed 5 because two that were in work dropped out before being interviewed. Therefore the one selected will have the full backing of the board and gone through the process.

Interesting that 2 elected to withdraw from consideration. Would those be the 2 who we delayed the process for?
