Lincoln would argue that stats are meaningless..
1. Blackpool - 9.052. Hull - 9.73. Peterborough - 9.764. MK Dons - 9.855. Sunderland - 10.196. Shrewsbury - 10.417. Northampton - 10.598. Fleetwood - 10.659. Ipswich - 11.3810. Wigan - 11.4511. Burton - 11.5212. Portsmouth - 11.6413. Charlton - 11.6814. Wimbledon - 11.7515. Bristol Rovers - 11.8216. Rochdale - 11.8517. Crewe - 12.4218. Oxford - 12.4819. Swindon - 1320. Accrington - 13.2521. Gillingham - 13.7522. Lincoln - 13.8523. Doncaster - 14.5924. Plymouth - 16.15These are averages per game. Our defence/midfield really letting the side down. 6th worst over the course of the season.We'd be relegation material if it wasn't for our goalscoring.
I think if you break it down, I would say 10% blame lies with the attack not working hard enough; 50% with the midfield and the lack of a Ben Whiteman influence; 20% with the defence and, in particular the full backs (no Halliday didn’t help, but also swapping and changing the left back). The other 20% I would put down to the large turnover of players throughout the side. But, amongst all those percentages, there is an over-riding feeling in me that something (or, perhaps, several things) had an influence to change the attitude amongst the squad. Be that the manager leaving (and the captain), a suggested disruptive character or characters, contract talks delays, or something else that none of us have been privy to.
